Castaic Union Preschool

Yard duties, teachers, and lunch staff are all great, genuine people in my experience. Administration is a joke, which is accented by the principle herself. I would strongly not recommend this school. It uses an all pass situation that causes kids who do not understand topics from a lower grade level—or simply don’t care enough to understand—to automatically pass to the next grade regardless of test scores, academic performance, participation, homework completion, or any other number of factors. This will weigh down your child’s potential to excel in an academic environment even if they would otherwise thrive due to never being challenged or fed a harder information that advances skills beyond grade level. Principle is constantly focused on non-issues, and doesn’t show capability of getting anyone, including other staff members from my observation, to respect her. She doesn’t showcase the ability to command a room, get large groups of people attention, or be stern with anyone ever. High teacher/student ratio, teachers seem exhausted and overwhelmed with job load, but are not inherently bad teachers. School is a failure based solely on administrative responsibility. Any donations won’t be used to improve quality of school for students, and should be avoided.

We have loved Live Oak Elementary! It’s a safe and amazing school. Our kids come home happy and their education is being met to the highest standards. We love the diversity of our school and the inclusiveness that our children are being taught. Every single teacher that I have met has been incredible! I cannot say enough great things about Live Oak!!!

Overall, very happy with this school. My daughter is very happy as well.

Our children have been going to Sloan Canyon since preschool and our son is now in 1st Grade. The children love the school and as a parents we do too. The education, character and spiritual growth we have seen in the children is nothing less than amazing. When they started we felt they might have a hard time keeping up but with the smaller class sizes and exceptional teaching staff they have excelled! Thank you Sloan canyon for the loving way you take care of our children and the great start in life you have offered them. Oh, the field trips are fun for the kids and the parents!

This school is the worst. They keep dangerous kids on campus so they can keep collecting money from the state. I would never feel safe having my son around kids with ankle monitors and kids on probation. Teachers are constantly quitting because they get no support from the two people that run it. All this school cares about is money. Students don't learn anything and it is very disorganized. Just a matter of time till this place is shut down.

My children attended Sloan Canyon Preschool and christian Academy from Preschool through 1st Grade. My Son is currently in a 5th grade and daughter is home schooled, excelling thanks in part to the solid educational foundation they received at Sloan Canyon. The teachers are wonderful and the loving atmosphere makes it easy to drop of the kids. I always felt confident they will be in the best hands possible while they grew academically, socially and spiritually.
