Two Hundred Thirty-Second Place School

Hidden gem. My daughter is in Kindergarten and loves the Dual language program. I can't say enough good things about Sr. Lopez and Ms. Vincent.

Looking back don’t bring your kid here this school has brought me a lot of trauma growing up. I will never forget the way some teachers treated me that still work here I’m 20 years old and it still makes me sad that I never spoke up because I was little and I couldn’t. I remember teachers would accuse me of lying they would yell at me and embarrass me. One teacher even said I wasn’t smart enough. This is an honest review. I hope the school system has changed and the teacher I grew up with no longer teach at this school. This school forever changed the way I grew up.

Great community school! It may not be the best school, but my kids feel safe and always excited to go. They are encouraged to go to school everyday and taught to be responsible, safe and good citizens. Since it's not a big school, it's easy to connect with the teachers and they are more focused.It's a plus that my kids are in the gifted program.

I had a horrible experience with the principal and my son’s kindergarten teacher. He was bullied by both because he would poop his pants. The teacher would not allow him to use the restroom forcing him to pee his pants many times. When I confronted the teacher she mad excuses I escalate the situation to the principal and he took the teachers side. My child would come home crying. One day my child asked the principal if he could help him peel his orange the principal threw his orange on the trash can and said No! I got upset and called him out on it and he denied it at first but then said well it was time to return to class anyways. I had to go to the district and demand for my children to be remove from the school. Horrible experience horrible school!

Our family's experience with Catskill is that of meeting new family members and a positive community of nurturing individuals. The campus does not have a soccer or baseball field but they do utilize what they can and offer additional classes such as coding, ballet, acting, etc. They address raised issues with quickness and everyone is always warm and welcoming at the office. It pains to move homes and my kids are especially sad about leaving our Catskill family. We are Asian but my son speaks Spanish now, thanks to the dual language program--the teachers have a lot to do with this in my humble opinion. My son who has autism received great support from the IEP team too and we were assisted in getting him the best possible education and help he could get. Thank you for all that you do for our kids and families, Catskill!

Meyler is doing its best to provide to our kids with the administration and teachers that they have. As parents, we also need to do our part. The school provides rewards academics, attendance, and positive behavior, while also making it fun for our kids. I’ve seen parents be rude and disrespectful to office staff, and honestly, patience goes a long way. This is a school, not a customer service counter… and how adults behave matters. It’s no surprise when kids mirror what they see.Meyler strongly promotes safety and respect. If families follow those values and work with the school then their children will have a great school year. This school is great, follow their IG , they do so much. Both my kids enjoy their teachers and administration is great.
