Read what parents are saying about Buena Park High SchoolThis school is a surprising gem of a high school. The teachers have been very responsive and committed to the success of their students. The students are down-to-earth, no entitlement attitude, and friendly. The size of the school is just right, has that family-feel. It would be good to see more parent involvement at the school.
Posted by a parent on 5/1/2017It is truly outstanding knowing that it has been rated in the Top 4% of high schools in the US as rated by US News and World Report 2014. Wow!
Posted by a parent on 2/26/2015As a parent I was worried when we moved here from garden grove. I am so happy that we did . My son would not be where is is today if it wasnt for Buena Park High . With the early college program and his guidance councilor Ms Chow my son started college as a SOPHMORE! . . A sophmore ! He will have is AA after only one year of college . . Thank you BPHS!
Posted by a parent on 9/14/2014I am very pleased with Buena Park High School. The teachers are responsive and helpful in providing information about their class and how your child is doing. They are available during breaks or after school if your child wants extra help. The principal is friendly and accessible. I often see him around campus and at school events greeting and talking to students and parents. Many of the faculty have their own kids at the school, which shows that they also trust the quality of the teachers and school environment. BPHS's test scores may not be as high as other schools in the district, but that does not mean that it is a bad school. There are a lot of really good, smart, hard-working and motivated kids here. There are rigorous AP and honors classes, well-qualified and experienced teachers and staff, and a supportive learning environment. Overall, great school.
Posted by a parent on 8/30/2014I am really impressed with the programs that are offered at Buena Park high. My daughter is in 9 th grade. I was told to send her to the other schools in our district. This school is different from when I went here. The staff and teachers really about education and the kids benefit from that. The middle College program is saving us money and her lots of time in College. I am happy at my choice to send her to BP.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my son first started Arborland, he was new to school from an in-home daycare setting. He was not potty trained and went through a lot due to co-parenting and separation from a two-parent home. At times, he exhibited behavior issues toward classmates and teachers due to home changes and the tug of being here and there due to the custody order. However, as a parent, I loved that Arborland school was a safe place of normalcy, stability, and comfort for my son, giving me peace as a working parent. The school welcomed parent visits and even chats with teachers and the owner throughout the hard times of adjustment to a school setting from an in-home daycare environment. At some point, my son told me some classmates bullied him, and the school told me it was kid stuff and to ignore it, which I didn't. Instead, I voiced my concerns with the teacher and owner, and thankfully, with some time and a meeting to address my concern, it was monitored more closely by the staff and owner and remedied. However, as stated above, Arborland school is accommodating and open to hearing my concerns and having parents feel welcome in the school environment. The school can also do more to help families find community resources for speech concerns, special needs, or behavior management support. They have the Fullerton district resource office as a community resource for parents seeking such services right down the street within 3 min drive and a 5 min walk. The process takes a while, but it is of great importance and a time-sensitive matter for children to get tested to address their needs promptly throughout the school district offices. I am currently satisfied. I am happy knowing my son has learned so much, has a zest for learning, and loves attending school. He tells me his favorite subjects are math and science. I love that he is learning about the inclusion of cultures and languages via classroom instruction in learning mandarin Chinese and Spanish as part of the curriculum.Other Review1y ago - Annunciation Catholic School
