Berry Creek Elementary School

Overall this is a great place to send your kids to. Great school lunches and a great after school program with lots of fun activities and sports for the kids. Students learn gardening and healthy recipes. The school has an active parents club that raises money for the kids to have fun field trips. Room for growth is the middle school where one overwhelmed teacher has three grades in a class. Kids are often barrated and left unsupervised. I don't feel that a male teacher and a married female teacher set a good example for teenagers when they nap together. Still there has been alot of growth at the school this year. It is a safe place on the playground and there is little or no bullying. Problems are dealt with quickly.

There are some very excellent teachers there. One in particular, Mr. Peet. He is an extremely bright and educated teacher that has quite a job on his hands. I don't believe a lot of parents understand how difficult it is to teach three grades in one classroom. It's easy to criticize, but spend one day in there alone and you just might gain an appreciation for he goes through on a daily basis! The school is lucky to have him.

Teachers constantly barrate kids. parents concerns are routinely ignored and staffs responsibilities are passed on to the kids. my kids have gone here for 4 yrs now. the teachers actively discourage them from telling me what happens to them and are reprimanded everytime I complain about the teachers behavior.Don't even try to take your complaints to the board because they're all related either by blood or marriage to the staff @ the schools. You should contact BCOE directly. their number is 530 532 5761. If I could afford it, I would move my kids to Ophir school. These other reviews are from staff members posing as parents. We know Christine personally. Also the water is contaminated by algae and the bleach they pour into the collection drum. No one there drinks the water, because they know how many kids have been sickened by drinking the water.
