9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school isn't what everyone around here makes it out to be. It hasn't been great since Dr. Irving left. Academically, it was ok. Some teachers are really good and attentive. Some will tell you your child has a learning disability because they have trouble grasping a certain subject. Bullying is not taken seriously at this school, not with the previous principal or the current, despite the administration telling you that they do everything in their power to ensure students feel safe. Both the principal and assistant principal will call your child and any complaints "petty." They just do everything they need to do to cover their own behinds in case you go to the district or sue. Yard aides are mean. Some teachers are nice, but most are biased towards and show favoritism to students whose parents they are friends with. Some teachers also gossip about students to other parents, which I find unethical, unprofessional and an invasion of student privacy. The moms who ran the parent club while my children were there were all catty, gossipy and pretentious. Parents also have a huge sense of entitlement. They don't follow parking lot/drop off rules because that's what Seven Oaks people do, apparently. The current principal will also not fight for your students or even push up against the district. Not even a little. You're better off homeschooling your kids or heading over to Highgate where I hear the principal is more assertive.Parent Review3y ago15 Reviews - Sing Lum Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has came to this school since TK , and is now off to 7th. My honest review about this trashy school is if your child is having a bullying problem , they do absolutely nothing about it , but if there is another child getting bullied she told me they do something about it right away . She said all the teachers do is handout worksheets and just expect the students to know what to do . They get mad for doing there JOB. The lady’s in the front office are VERY rude and have catty attitude. Yeah so I won’t be sending any family members, friends and my kids here anymore cause they couldn’t show me that they are a nice well put-together school.Parent Review11mo ago11 Reviews - Laurelglen Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was attending another school previously where she was getting bullied and it was not being handled in a way that made her comfortable to go to school. She didn't want to go to school anymore or do any of the work. We moved to a neighborhood near Hart elementary and this school was assigned to her since our address changed. Since going to Hart she has been more motivated to go to school and anyone who seems to bother her even a little is addressed right away. The teachers communicate right away when I bring something up and address any concerns I have. This school is great! It reminds me of when I was growing up and schools were safer and more communicative when things happened. My daughter is so much more happier being at this school than her previous school and I am happy with how Hart's staff handle things.Parent Review2y ago6 Reviews - Christa Mcauliffe Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is for the Subaru boys and Girls club staff, notregular school office . But the boys and girls club is still on this school campus am writing this review as a concerned parent regarding how a safety incident involving my first-grade son was handled at the Boys & Girls Club program at Subaru Elementary. On Tuesday, April 21st, my son was knocked down by an older student who is several grades above him during after-school program time. He came home with a scraped knee and reported that after the incident, the student spoke to him in a disrespectful way, telling him “Don’t speak” and “That’s what I thought,” and also threatened to slam him to the floor. After this happened, my son became upset, isolated himself, and cried because he felt scared and embarrassed in front of other children.I reported the incident immediately, but several days passed without meaningful action being taken. I was told the situation had not yet been addressed and that staff were busy with other matters. There were delays in addressing the situation, and I was concerned about the lack of urgency given that this involved physical contact, verbal threats, and a younger child being involved with an older student. As a parent, my biggest concern is safety and proper supervision. Incidents involving physical harm and threats should be handled quickly and seriously, especially when younger children are involved.I hope leadership reviews how this situation was handled and ensures that future safety concerns are addressed promptly and professionally so that all children feel safe and protected.Parent Review3w ago13 Reviews
