Aptos Junior High School

I currently have 2 children attending Aptos Academy ( Pre-K and 1st grade) and we couldn't be more pleased with the school! My children love their teachers. The school is a very safe environment for the students. The teachers and staff are amazing and really care about the kids and their academic success. There is a great relationship between the staff and parents! The small class size enable the children to learn at their own pace and receive the help they need. Everybody knows everybody and its like a big family. I would definitely recommend Aptos Academy!!!

My son Lucas went to Montessori about 10 years ago. He was very quiet and shy. He went to school there between the ages of three and five years old. The teachers would have him sit in the classroom when all the other children were playing outside because he was accused of making comments when we later found out it was another child and he was being blamed for the behavior, and when I brought it to their attention, they still continued to have him sit indoors and not allow him to play outside. I believe it’s because we got a scholarship there and we were low income family. When I would pick up Lucas, he would be very sad and disgruntled. I found out a few years later he has autism, and it explained his quiet and shy demeanor. They were very cruel and cold to Lucas. During his kindergarten graduation, he ran off during his graduation presentation of dinosaurs and started crying because he was so nervous and intimidated by the teachers there. I’m very sad I ever had my son go to that school. I don’t recommend your child going there if they’re not extroverted. My son is an introvert and on the very low end of the scale and it makes me very sad that I ever sent my son Lucas to their school. Also they had a picture day that I volunteered and we were supposed to get an extra special photo of my son and I together, but they said it was “lost”and we never got that special sweet photo of the two of us together
