Crescent Elementary School

My kids have attended this school since kinder and are now almost completing middle school. There have been some teachers that are not that stellar but overall my kids have had excellent caring teachers. The school did exactly what I was looking for which is disciplined academics and rigor. They also helped one accelerate in math and he is way ahead without me pushing. My kids are very respectful and have never gotten into trouble and I am appreciative that it's not an overly strict regimented school but allows free thinking and curiosity. There have been changes to the elementary side so I can't speak to that anymore but when we went through it the teachers were great. Yes the proper head of school was not my favorite but that has changed. Yes I didn't think that English teacher being mentioned may need to retire and she is no longer there. Changes are not always made immediately but just like in our daily jobs things will get corrected it just takes time.

I am disheartened by my experience with Vineyard Academy as a parent. The school's militant atmosphere, characterized by strict expectations and unrealistic standards, is not conducive to effective learning for many students, including my own. The teaching style, reminiscent of a taskmaster, has resulted in frustration. I believe that the lack of credentialed teachers may contribute to this approach, as they may not possess the necessary experience to engage students. When I brought my concerns to the school's attention, I was disappointed by their response, which shifted the blame to my student rather than addressing my concerns. We have since found a better fit for my student, who is now exceling in a more supportive school environment.

We were at Hephatha for a few years and the majority of it was negative. The one positive is that the other families were wonderful. However, most of the teachers simply did not care. There were many instances where I would speak with the teacher and they’d shrug their shoulders at me. They rarely said hi and smiled. The principal rarely took action on things that went on in the school such as bullying being the biggest problem, character education, the rigor of academia and school culture as a whole. The secretary is nothing short of consistently rude. I would not send your children there. When we left, the principal didn’t respond. They just told us they will stop payment. Super cold and unwelcoming.

It is a school that promises to help children with a tutor and they do not, very disappointed in this school. and the administrator very bad attitude when trying to solve a problem, my son's teacher yelled at him until he calmed down. but instead of helping to advance that he was going for 6 years, his best idea is to leave it again in the same year. I would not recommend this school. Unfortunately, we were looking for the package that compmetp Christian teaching and a high academic level with resources. they don't have them.
