We feel very lucky to have our daughter enrolled in this school. She's excited about learning, taking multiple AP classes, and comes home eager to share what's going on in class. Her teachers are all engaged and many have advanced degrees. 100% recommend! Bonus that Albany is a very small, safe dist
Posted by a parent on 9/20/2026We have a sophomore currently and I am so happy with AHS relative to what I hear from friends at the closest two public high schools. It feels very chill during the day (not like a minimum security prison), most teachers do reach out and let you know what's going on in class (and you can get Aeries/
Posted by a parent on 10/14/2023I brought my son to this school from Michigan in the 5th grade - from a top rated school in MI. I chose AUSD based on ratings. My son is graduating this year and I have to say after all is said and done this was a horrendous school experience. If this is what a “good” public school is suppose

Posted by a community member on 12/13/2015Albany High School is a mixed bag. I love that AHS is part of a tight-knit community where most families know one another and value student success. With so many high achieving students, academic opportunities, such as AP classes and special programs, are limited and there is fierce competition. Mid

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son started kindergarten is past fall and has been THRIVING. He in the past has struggled with transitions and he adapted to his new school and environment so quickly. He has really blossomed at Golestan and become an confident and excited learner. In just 3 months he has quickly picked up on phonics, can spell out some words and identify others. The teachers here make the learning so intentional and rigorous while also making it joyful. I love that little to no screens are used in the school and they really teach students (and families) how to be great humans all around. We feel so lucky to be a part of this school. It's the kind of learning environment that all children deserve.Parent Review11mo ago
