Pueblo High Magnet School

I have found that the teaching curriculum is strong & consistent. The principal is stern, strict, & fair. The teachers well like at every school (my opinion) you have some better than others. I've noticed they push reading & math strongly, they institute a good foundation for values by implementing a LEAP motto. CE Rose was rated an A+ school in the last couple years & has won awards in excellence. In my opinion I am very happy with the schools overall performance. They push our children in a positive way to further there abilities to perform better.

My son is an employee at this school. He is proud of the leadership and the dedicated work of the excellent teachers who work there. This year there is much school spirit and assemblies to honor the students' achievements and celebrate the various holidays in the school year. Most of all, he is proud of the positive morale that is displayed by all members of the student body, staff, and parents. This school would greatly benefit from tax credit contributions to enhance the school playground, provide more student supplies, and add to the extracurricular activities.

Our kids went here for kindergarten and first grade and we really tried to give it a chance and let them develop the programming they are working on. Unfortunately in our experience everything fell to pieces. Classroom management was horrible. No physical education, art or science. Sad to say but the school really let us down.

I am a teacher with 20 years experience. I have taught at 7 schools, and of these 7 Van Buskirk is the school that I would rate the highest. Teachers collaborate, the principal is supportive, and the children are eager to learn. The Opening Minds through the Arts program allows every child to learn math, reading, science and other subjects through fun, stimulating lessons. The teachers are concerned with helping children learn to think creatively and critically, rather than just having them memorize facts.

My personal experience and I’m sure it will be different for everyone but mine was disappointing.in the morning I would call I can’t never get threw so I go to the school and the front desk ,no one can answer my question .Also some teacher assumes children know Spanish and speak to them in Spanish when they don’t understand and are place in Spanish class ,p.e teacher calls from my understanding calls kids names and when I email to principal for a meeting never here from them one teacher I can say is amazing and great with the kids and it’s MR.A ane few more front Desk are rude and calls me dum dum for not bringing my I.D I thought it was rude .
