West Point Elementary School

I’m very happy with this school. The teachers are kind, patient, and truly care about the students. I’ve seen great improvement in my children, both academically and socially. The staff is supportive and always communicates well with parents. The environment is safe, welcoming, and encouraging for kids. I really appreciate all the effort they put into helping my children succeed. Highly recommend this school

I am so happy to come here and see the comments I have that are recent. I agree with these people. Someone is definitely lying to get that A rating at this school because it's terrible. My son is picked on by one particular kid daily and they blame my kid. My son and this boy along with another was suspended earlier this year for fighting....mine was standing up for himself and he still got suspended. It has continued since and now the teachers do little or nothing at all. Worst part is I have my kid open enrolled at this school because it was supposed to be so much better. NOPE. The staff is selective on who and what they deal with.

I have had 6 kids go to this school and the past 2 years it has gone down hill. The new administration doesn't know how to run a school and they allow fights and blame the victims along with the aggressors for the fights. There is no justice for kids that continue to get picked on. There are 2 ladies in charge and they both seem like DEI hires. Dysart Districts seriously needs fire both of them and get competent adults to run this school.

I loved this school up until my child reached 3rd grade. This year everything seemed to go downhill. My child has struggled a lot, and instead of support, it feels like the teacher’s response has mostly been to scold or criticize. I’ve felt judged by the staff more than supported.The only time the teacher reaches out is when my child is being “disruptive,” and I’m repeatedly told that my child is “checked out.” I’ve explained multiple times that this is part of my child’s personality and that the phrase “checked out” feels dismissive and offensive. What child doesn’t get distracted or talk in class sometimes?I’ve also mentioned that I suspect my child may have ADHD, but my concerns were brushed off immediately. I even shared personal family issues that could be affecting my child, hoping it would help the school understand what they’re going through. Instead of that information being used to support my child appropriately, it felt like it backfired on me. That alone made me feel even more judged, hurt, and angry.My child has told me they feel “dumb” because they’re struggling with their 2’s multiplication facts, and they constantly feel rushed. That breaks my heart. What’s even more frustrating is that I’m never contacted about the good days—only the difficult ones.I’m a single mom doing the best I can, and I’ve never had issues like this with any of my older children. This year has left both me and my child feeling unsupported, judged, and discouraged.Because of this experience, my child will NOT be continuing at Countryside for 4th grade.

There needs to be some form of investigation on Freedom Traditional due to their constant bullying and favoritism of students done by teachers and staff. Furthermore they either need to do a better job of watching/knowing what's going on during lunch/recess or hire more aids to keep watch. This school is absolutely ridiculous. 0/10 would not recommend.
