Posted by a parent on 10/30/2019I don’t recommend this school and here is why: My son just finished his 5th year at PTS. The first 4 years were great! This final year was a disaster and we won’t be going back. The school’s motto used to be they would never give up on the students and whatever help & accomodations the kids needed (within reason) would be given. This year I’ve seen that all change. The principal, Eric Stone has developed an attitude of it’s all about outward appearances. This attitude has trickled down to the teachers and students as well. For example, some of the teachers told the students only those who have A & B grades deserve to be there. One student saw my son’s grade in a class he struggles in and told him he shouldn’t be at that school. My son also has ADHD and the school continually punished him with lunch detention (no recess) for behaviors related to his ADHD.I no longer recommend this school unless your child fits their mold...compliant, obedient, studious, and earns high grades.
Posted by a parent on 6/29/2019I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school and their staff! Their values on character play a role in addition to the stellar education. Poised for excellence, PTS is one of the few schools that received an A rating from AZ Department of Education. They are ranked as a top school for academic merit. As for their teachers, they are amazing! I've never seen a staff continuously go above and beyond for their students. When my son was in the hospital for surgery, his teacher came from her home in surprise to the hospital in downtown Phoenix to visit. At color run this year, the 5th-8th grade teachers got in on the fun with their students and came out as covered as the students. Watching the bond their students have with their teachers makes me proud to have my children attend here.
Posted by a parent on 8/2/2018We love PTS and are excited to see it continue grow in the coming years. It is so wonderful to have a charter/private school type structure in the public school district.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageZuni hills is hands down the BEST school in the district. I am a mom of 5. My oldest son started at Zuni the year the opened when they had the developmental preschool both my oldest son and daughter have promoted on from Zuni into high school and are kind responsible productive adults and I think that is in huge part to their time at Zuni. I currently have 3 that attend Zuni in 1st, 6th and 7th grade and I could not be happier. I just love the staff and that my education my kids get. I highly recommend Zuni hills.Parent Review1y ago - Parkridge Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageParkridge is an excellent school. The teachers, admin and parents work together to make this school feel like a community. My daughters have always been known, and treated well. The academic expectations are high, but not unreasonable. My kids are very happy and have met great kids along the way. Parental support at our school is unparalleled. We have lots of parent volunteers on campus, and parents are always willing to support their child and their classroom. The teachers are excellent. They care about my child and the greater classroom community. I always feel like they have taken the time to get to know my kid and differentiate to meet all needs. Teachers communicate well and teach strong lessons daily. Homework has never been too much. I love how all the teachers work together to make sure that all students are getting their needs met.Parent Review1y ago - Cross of Glory Lutheran School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCross of Glory is the right fit for us because it is top priority for us that our kids are studying God's Word and applying what is learned there across all subject areas. Academically, our kids have tested in the top 10% of the nation and I feel confident about their curriculum and teaching approach. The kids enjoy the extra running and motivational reading programs that kids can choose to be a part of. If there is a problem with something, I have felt that lines of communication are open and honest and that teachers and admin want to collaborate to solve things.Parent Review3y ago - Sunset Heights Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has special needs and an IEP. Her meetings involve her principal, therapists and school psychologists. Every aspect of the way my child learns is considered and she has been in regular classes since kindergarten. I believe this is due to her being matched with the most experienced teacher in her grade level and a very specific goals to help my child with social interactions. They also have a lunch bunch where my child can choose a classmate to play games and have lunch with her. It is a very popular program that her neurotypical fellow students love to take part in the activities. Overall we are happy with this school.Parent Review11mo ago
