4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family has been part of Hohokam Elementary for 8 years, and it’s been a great experience from day one. My husband attended the school in the 90s, so it’s been a special for us to have our kids here as well. The principal is amazing, Mr. Rantala, he's very involved and genuinely cares about the students and their families. Most of the teachers are dedicated and provide a nurturing environment that encourages both academic and personal growth. Our kids have always felt safe, supported, and excited to go to school each day.The school also has a wonderful sense of community, and we’ve enjoyed participating in various school events over the years. All in all, we highly recommend Hohokam Elementary. It’s been a positive and rewarding experience for our family, and we feel fortunate to have such a strong educational foundation for our children.Parent Review1y ago13 Reviews - Pima Elementary School

The students are happy to be at school and show that they are ready to learn every single day! It is heart warming to see that teachers, staff, students and families have a great amount of pride for Pima!Teacher Review8mo ago16 Reviews - Tonalea Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNew leadership and a complete shift in the entire South Scottsdale community is building Tonalea up! Tonalea has been notoriously known for its bullying and roughness and until this school year things were not changing. Principal Villa has stepped up and in and he has created an incredible environment on his campus making kids safe, comfortable and accountable. We moved to the South Scottsdale area and we decided to buy in to our neighborhood schools and it was the best decision we could have made. While academics have been pretty low at this school we decided to have our kids be apart of the solution. Work hard, study for quizzes and tests, and show up every day ready to learn. With this message and the hard work and dedication from our teachers, we are only bound to succeed. I encourage all families in the area to be apart of the solution and build these schools up.Parent Review5mo ago13 Reviews - Yavapai Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYavapai has been an amazing community to be apart of. My family is new to the Coronado Learning Community and Yavapai has done an incredible job at displaying why we should continue our children to Tonalea and then Coronado High School. The teachers are ready every single day to make an impact and to get your kids to the next level, benchmark, or whatever it may be. The principal has done a great job at displaying her leadership working hard at putting together family events and experiences for families on her campus every chance she gets. While Yavapai received a B rating for academics last school year many of us parents are committed to helping and encouraging our students to focus every day and as the trend shows, we will continue to increase that grade. If you live in the area, choose Yavapai and the Coronado Learning Community.Parent Review5mo ago6 Reviews - Cecil Shamley School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI agree 100% with the most recent heartfelt review — it beautifully reflects the OLPH experience from 10–15 years ago, and based on what’s described, it sounds like that’s when the reviewer’s children attended the school. During that time, OLPH truly was a strong, faith-filled community where students thrived both academically and personally.Unfortunately, I don’t believe the same can be said of the school today. The environment has changed significantly. As stated in another recent review, many families who are not part of the current "inner circle" feel disconnected and disheartened. Another deeply concerning issue that continues to appear in both recent reviews and reviews going back as far as 2014 is the lack of action toward bullying. When bullying is ignored, it doesn’t go away — it escalates. Until the school acknowledges that there is a serious problem and makes a committed effort to address it, the situation will only continue to worsen. No child should feel unsafe or unheard in a place that is meant to nurture their growth. It's disappointing to see a school that once had such a powerful impact on so many families no longer reflect those same values and strengths. I sincerely hope OLPH can return to the vibrant and inclusive community it once was.Other Review6mo ago22 Reviews
