Posted by a parent on 5/26/2023many don't know that florence district took this school over from the coolidge school district back in 2016. The school was a disaster at that time as coolidge neglected the building and had hardly any expectations for academics or student discipline. Florence was lucky to get dr. richards as the principal as he was the one who made poston butte an A plus school. He basically got foothills out of the hole but it took him 5 years and made many improvements. After he left florence replaced him with a very weak and inexperienced group of administrators and many of the best teachers left and now the school has many discipline issues and will probably never be a good school. I live right by the school and had 2 kids go through.
Posted by a parent on 5/3/2022What High School doesn't provide band AND ORCHESTRA?! We have to drive to gilbert for Violin lessons because the school does not provide it. But sure let's spend money on a brand new sports feild rather then academic enrichment for a school that scores below average in every subject! Unbelievable!!! We will be open enrolling somewhere else!!
Posted by a parent on 1/20/2022Administrators spend so much time worrying about discipline of minor issues, that it takes good students out of too many classes. Tardy to class by 10 seconds? Go to "Sweep" (1 class detention) and miss the class. Not sitting in your seat when the bell rings? Go to sweep. You lifted your arms and someone saw your belly button? Referral (which means you will likely miss more class). Teachers and Vice Principal spend way too much time policing non-issues, that they forget the reason they are there; to teach kids subject matter! The school is mostly taught through online coursework, so the teachers spend too little time teaching already. No wonder this and many other Pinal County public schools score so low. This, by far, is the worst school any of my children have been in, and I have kids from 13-21. If you sign up for their phone notifications, expect your phone to ring at least once a day for stuff that isn't even applicable or worthy of a call (super annoying!) The school district and the administration need to get their priorities straight, and provide a good, positive learning environment, and stop running good students off to alternative educational programs.

I intend STH k-8 in the 8th grade. first i wanna start off with bullying, i wouldnt say im fat but im not skinny so any chance someone can get they would bash me saying im fat and i have other fetures of myself that are big insecurities and people mainly the boys cant keep there mouths shut about. and for learning, id say i get my work done but i much rather do work in class and not have to do it at home and always forget, and i belive that the stafs really only care about what u put on the internet about the school not about the helth of others and family issues (i might get introble for posting this). But i would say that i love how the teachers bring everyone together in the mornings! one instances that had happened too me, i was sitting in class writing down work that they where putting up on the screen, and we had to read a 26 pg then answer the qustions that they would put up on the bored. You could tell the teacher was vary mad becuase none was answering the qustions so she never gave us the answers and the answer where a key for the homework so i got a F cuz i didnt know what to do. Special education is amazing id say, i dont have disabillties but from what i see in the hallways its pretty good! but i would like to say that some people cant just sitdown and read some people like to lisen some people have ADHD and simply cant stay in there chairs but we have to. again with the safty i dont think they care, they do care more from last year its just not the best, and we are not alowed to even have our phones and one senario i think of is if one of ur gardians are in the hospital there not just gunna call the school, there gunna call u. but sense we cant have our phone on us we cant do anything about it. (Sorry if i miss spell anything and dont try to get me in troble.)Student Review1y ago
