Poor communication from staff and principals regarding big things like threats, but you'll get weekly emails with a word of the week. Principal Hood will call you and sweep things under the rug if you have a concern. My friends child was found with an older student (she was in kindergarten) in the bathroom stall and the staff acted like it was no big deal. Another friends son's teacher is simply passing him along rather than actually helping him. He doesn't understand the material and is on an IEP but the minimal support is evident when a third grader can hardly read. Our experience has also been less than ideal with everyone except the amazing office team, and we are happy that they now have a police officer on staff. Even the nurse does not communicate, if your child comes home with a large bandaid and blood dripping down their skin with a huge bruise you'll have no idea they even went to the nurse unless your student tells you. We have been a part of DVUSD for several years ranging from kinder to HS and the district as a whole continues to go downhill. They want their students off of IEP's, they do testing without consent, their curriculum is awful, they spend countless amounts of money on things like technology when their money can be used other places, and their focus is not safety or the well being of students like they say. A matter of fact, you don't even need to have a background check to volunteer on field trips or go to school dances. You also cannot open enroll with an IEP, therefore we are stuck with Paseo for a few more years until my children go to HS, as it's our home school. If you're looking for a home, I do not recommend moving to an area where your student will go to Paseo Hills. From the principal, to the teachers, and the learning in between, Paseo Hills continues to be a disappointment.Parent Review1mo ago17 Reviews - Stetson Hills Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children have been at Norterra Canyon since the 2nd year it opened. My oldest 2 have moved on to high school/college, with my youngest still attending. We have LOVED everything about Norterra Canyon. Amazing administration and staff. The first admin was not as strong but have loved all of them since. Open to listen to concerns and suggestions. Teachers have become friends over the years. My children have been in the gifted program and I saying it is amazing is not high enough. My youngest tested high enough to go into the Renaissance program in the district. We felt he would do better at his home school and have not been disappointed. I highly recommend Norterra Canyon and it will be a little sad when my last one leaves. *Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate*Parent Review2y ago17 Reviews - Adams Traditional Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall experienceWe have two children at Adams Traditional Academy — one in kindergarten and one in 8th grade. Our oldest has been at this school since kindergarten. Over the years, we have had a very positive experience and truly feel this is a great place for learning and growth.Teachers and academicsThe teachers are dedicated, professional, and genuinely care about students. They take time to support children when needed and keep good communication with parents. The academic program is strong and structured, and we can clearly see how much our kids are learning year after year.Focus and disciplineOne thing we really appreciate is the focus on discipline and learning. Phones are not allowed during the school day (only turned off), which helps students stay focused and avoid distractions. This creates a serious learning environment.Opportunities for studentsStarting from 6th grade, students can join team sports and compete with other charter schools. The school also offers many activities and opportunities that help children grow in confidence, teamwork, and responsibility.Final thoughtsWe feel very comfortable and happy with Adams Traditional Academy. It is a school that builds strong academic foundations, good habits, and discipline. We would confidently recommend it to other parents who are looking for a structured and high-quality education for their children.Parent Review2w ago59 Reviews
