It is a school in a family neighborhood. It focuses on helping each student grow and learn, not just pass a test. It is an overlooked school in the shadow of Zaharias and Las Sendas.

My son is autistic and can have trouble regulating his emotions and outbursts. We moved him from a charter school (that couldn’t meet his needs) to Barbara Bush and his kindergarten teacher is Mrs. Wells. On my son’s first day Mrs. Wells put me at ease and told me “Don’t worry, We got this Mom!”. The principal, Mr. Olson, as well as the school psychologist Mrs. Lynch gave my son and I a tour of the school as well. They were very friendly and informative, and supportive. My son’s first week was a bit rocky. However, we are now at the end of week two and his behaviors are getting better everyday! Today he had an amazing day! And he is soooo proud to tell me at pick up! This school is supportive with my son’s needs. They take the time to understand him and work positively with him. They know how to engage him, motivate him and praise him. As the saying goes, “Kids do well if they can”. My son seems to be thriving here so far and this was the best choice my husband and I could have made.

Elementary school is an essential foundation for every child’s academic and social development. As a parent of a current student, I can confidently say that my child’s elementary school experience has been one of the most memorable and valuable periods of her life. One of the things I appreciate the most about this school is the teachers. They are patient, kind, and passionate about their work. They always take the time to explain concepts and answer questions, which is making her learning enjoyable and engaging. The teachers also organized many activities and events that have helped her develop teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. Another aspect of my child’s elementary school that I love is the sense of community. The school is like a big family, and everyone looks out for one another. We have had many opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities such as music, chess club, lego club, drawing, and running club which has helped her make friends and discover new interests. Overall, our experience at Las Sendas elementary school has been one that we will cherish. It is providing a solid foundation for my child’s academic and social development, and I am grateful for the many wonderful memories and experiences that are there. I am a firm believer that every child deserves a high-quality elementary education that prepares them for success in life, and Las Sendas Elementary is certainly achieving this goal.

Mendoza has been such a blessing for our family. As a parent, you always worry about those first few years of school, but the environment here is so warm and supportive. The teachers are incredible—they’ve managed to make learning fun while really challenging the kids to grow. I’ve already seen such a big change in my son’s vocabulary and his excitement for solving problems.I love that the "Mendoza Pup" spirit is more than just a slogan; the staff truly cares about raising kind, respectful kids. It’s a great community where my son feels safe to be himself and excited to go to school every morning. We are so grateful to be part of the Mendoza family!

Administrators and teachers are terrible with perhaps a couple exceptions. Mendoza or other schools in the area are better options.

I am lost on what to say; there are so many excellent things about this school. I went to this school since I was almost three. I knew no English at all; I only knew Vietnamese. But the amazing and friendly teachers there helped me learn this language for my future. The way that the students learn there is just smart. They play while they learn. Every month, there is a new theme that the teachers set up, such as Butterflies, a month when the children learn about butterflies. They also serve very healthy snacks, such as fruits and vegetables. They read daily to the kids, and play exciting games for young kids, such as "Copy Cat", and "Where is the doggy's bone". They teach kids fun songs to sing as well, such as "Good Morning". I currently attend the Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies, and this school helped me achieve this goal. I would recommend this school to anyone.
