Horrible principle and staff. As a timeout they put my 4th grader in a small closet with a mat surrounding him. Every time he “gets in trouble “ his consequence is to miss the following day of school. How is missing school helpful? I feel this school favorites white people. If my child is having problems and doesn’t want to listen then call me instead of putting hands on my child. I hate this school. I only use it because it’s near my house. Good thing this principal is leaving this year!

The Principal is amazing! If you have a strong, caring, and innovating leadership like her the entire school benefits and excels. All the teachers we have had are extraordinary. Good communication is easy to have about grades, missing assignments, social/emotional issues, health concerns, and about anything else. We had some social issues and the teachers took it seriously and helped everyone grow from the experience. In the last several years, they added the accelerated program, implemented a new math curriculum, upgraded the bathrooms and drinking fountains, soccer nets, volleyball, and added privacy screens to the kindergarten playground. They encourage parent involvement by having grandparents day, parents at PE day, and so much more. Overall school is wonderful! Many leave to charter schools and then come back.

I went here 20 years ago and my kids now currently go here. It's a fabulous school with great teachers and staff. A lot of the teachers here have been with Canyon Rim since I went there and it opened in 2003, I really think that speaks volumes!! The principal, Mr Lopat, is fabulous. He's at the drop off and pickup car line everyday and loves getting to know the kids and parents. Canyon rim offers a traditional vs conventional classroom options so kids can learn the best way for them. I love this school and would recommend it any day!
