The staff is kind and welcoming. The teachers and administrators are wonderful!

1. The class size on this rating is COMPLETELY WRONG. They have about 30 to 35, sometimes even 40 students in 1 classroom, per 1 teacher. It is ridiculously over packed and parents have to get waivers to get them into a better school that is less crowded.2. The teachers here do nothing to keep the students entertained in class. They have them sit down and take notes. There are no science projects, no having the KIDS get up and move around to help do interactive math problems. They do not keep the classroom fun which could explain why there's always so many students failing. All they do is take notes.3. The bullying is outrageous. The amount of children that think it is ok to bully here and no teachers intervene is wild. I mean last year a group of boys had started an entire fight club! It took my student telling me about it and then me telling the principal about it to get it under control. Students would make fun of my son for his father being sick with cancer and teachers never did anything about it. They DO NOT rally behind their students and its disgusting.4. They have no patience. Now that could be due to how overpacked the classrooms are but DO NOT TAKE IT OUT ON THE KIDS. It is not their fault that they are stuck in a classroom that is too large. It is the schools and the school districts.Overall this school is terrible. I have never been so disgusted with a school and how they handle things in my life until we came across Kachina. Hopefully the new principal actually takes what parents say with pride and becomes a solution versus adding to the problem.

We love Pioneer! Class sizes are on the smaller side. We have had a teacher here and there that our children didn't favor, but that's normal. They are very family oriented, lots of family fun nights. The teachers are very supportive. We have always been able to contact a teacher regarding anything and have always gotten a quick response. If there has ever been an issue with one of our children, the teachers have worked with us to help support them and them back on track and resolve the issue. We have had 5 children in this school for the last 5 years from Kinder to 8th and don't see ourselves ever going anywhere else.

I was hesitant to send my son here for 7th grade after reading the bad reviews; but, after speaking with a long time office staff member who assured me the new principal was amazing, I took a chance. She was 100% correct! Dr. Romito was everything I could possibly hope for in a principal and Mrs. Hartman (VP) followed right in her wake of being amazing. Above and beyond doesn't do them justice. My child is special needs and gifted, so he a double whammy. He was treated like royalty compared to other schools, and I was treated with grace and respect on all levels. When there were problems (inevitable) the admin. staff, teachers, and even charter students stood up proud and aimed for solutions, not blame; prevention, not punishment; safety, not oversight. They FOUND a way for every child to be in a good learning environment, no matter how challenging that feat was. They didn't pacify parents or students with lip service; instead, the let their actions show their concern for the children in the care of Copperwood. The leaders of this school pass it down to give hope to some of the "GREATS" in teaching, like Mrs. Land, who is sure to be the best teacher of the 21st century. Great leaders, like Dr. Romito, make teachers who want to teach stay, and make teachers who can't adapt leave. Copperwood was great the first year of her reign, I can't wait to see what miracles she creates moving forward, now that some of the cobwebs have cleared out. If you had any doubt before, think again and take the chance. It was very rewarding for our family and many others.

I absolutely adore this school and the small town community feel it has.
