Haley Elementary School

As a former parent, I would caution families considering this school. Our experience included ongoing concerns with communication and consistency from the administration, which often made it difficult to get clear resolution when issues arose. At times, it felt that raising concerns was not always welcomed, and we were concerned that unresolved issues sometimes carried over in ways that affected our child’s experience in school, which made parent advocacy more difficult.We also observed situations involving student behavior and peer conflict that, in our experience, were not consistently addressed in a way that led to meaningful resolution. This raised concerns for us about the overall support environment for students.Since the current principal’s arrival, we noticed increased staff turnover, including several experienced teachers leaving, which appeared to affect stability and continuity in classrooms.In addition, the school culture placed noticeable emphasis on praise, gifts, and recognition of staff, which at times felt more prominent than addressing underlying academic and behavioral concerns.Regarding the gifted program, we found that it did not consistently reflect a rigorous accelerated curriculum. Instruction often focused on projects and activities rather than sustained advanced academic depth.While some families may have positive experiences, ours led us to feel the school did not consistently provide the level of rigor, stability, and support we expected.

We started at another CUSD school just north of Ryan and left within a week. From the minute you walk on campus, you feel like a part of the Royal family. Mr. Durham is gracious, understanding and partners with families. My children started to love school again, after coming to Ryan. Great atmosphere!

We love being part of the Quartz Hill family. The teachers, principal, and staff truly care about the education and development of the students.
