My Son wnthere last year and this year . Last year His Teacher Wouldent stop Yelling at my son. The Principal said My Son was Exaggerating, but when i investigated on my own... The other students in His class used the word YELLED a MY SON. So you caint tst the teachers or the Principal... Listen to your Children Mothers...

Spring Lake Park Elementary School is in old fashioned neighborhood school. The teachers know all of the students names, they know about their home life, and their interests, dreams and abilities. They love their students! As a result, the level of teaching is excellent and discipline problems are virtually non-existent. They children leave Spring Lake Park ready to compete with students from any of the best private schools in the state. Here in Texarkana, we call Spring Lake Park Elementary school the 'Happy School'!

Our family's experience with the PG Elementary School & the PG Middle School was not favorable. My 5 year old son has Asperger's Syndrome & ADHD. The teachers & administrative staff at the elementary school were not accommodating or helpful at all. Most of the time they just sent him to the office and asked us to pick him up, even after we developed an IEP based on a 504. The school staff did not seem willing to help beyond what they felt they had to legally. My 11 year old son was bullied continuously for two years, even after many meetings and phone communications with the middle school staff. Both of my sons dreaded going to school @ Pleasant Grove. So, after we exhausted all resources with this school, we moved them to Texarkana ISD where they are excelling and are happy. My wife attended Pleasant Grove ISD for 6 years in the 1980's and she has the same outlook on this school. We were expecting more from a newer school that has high school tax rates and found our satisfaction lacking.

In my opinion, this school is a very good school. We pray every morning, and have a chapel every Tuesday. We have a large variety in sports. The sports include football, baseball, softball, basketball (both genders), cross country, and track & field. Students can also be also apart of band and be on the chapel team! Once every month, there are staff development days, while teachers are learning, students are at home doing work from their teacher. Both me and my parents plan on me graduating from TCS.
