Academics Plus High Charter School

This school offers all that parents feel they have to go private to find in a school although it is a public charter...excellent education, safe location, great staff and teachers, and a fun environment. My two sons were lucky enough to get a seat when we first moved to Little Rock and because we do not live in Maumelle we tried moving them to a closer school the next year. That was a very big mistake. Our kids literally begged to go back to Maumelle Charter where they actually enjoyed school. After looking at several private schools (bc we live in the LRSD where our neighborhood's zoned public schools have been flagged as failing) we realized Maumelle Charter was going to be the best fit for our kids to go through middle/ high school. It has taken almost a year to get one of them back in because of the waiting list and the other one is still waiting. We have learned the hard way not to take such a great situation lightly. Our family has moved a lot due to my husband's work and this school is one of the best we have been in. It is also a nice eclectic group of students from all walks of life which doen't seem to be typical of Little Rock.
