Read what parents are saying about The Anthony SchoolDon’t waste $13k on this school. It is run by unqualified parents who dominate the board and use it as their personal power trip. The head of school doesn’t even have a degree in education - and several other staff have zero education training but are hired because of whom they know (or married) on the board. The middle school offers no electives or extracurricular activities and teachers have clear favorites that are selected for everything. My child’s math scores increased 20 points after transferring to public school and said child finally stopped complaining about going to school.
Posted by a parent on 6/12/2022My two sons transferred to The Anthony School in 6th grade. I worried a little about whether they would be readily accepted by peers, some of whom had been together since pre-k3. Not only were they instantly embraced by their class, they made lifelong friendships in the time they were there. In addition to having a wonderful experience socially, they were nurtured and challenged academically. They were both well prepared for high school and often reminisce about their days at Anthony. I have no doubt that Anthony was the right choice for my children, I only wish we had transferred sooner!
Posted by a community member on 4/22/2017Wonderful school, with exceptional teachers and staff. Curriculum, school activities, and family atmosphere has far surpassed our expectations!!
Posted by a parent on 4/21/2017I have one graduate and one soon-to-be graduate and I cannot stress enough how prepared for high school Anthony graduates are. Students leave here LOVING to learn! The teachers are amazing and work to help every child reach their personal, highest potential.
Posted by a parent on 4/17/2017The Anthony School is a great school with a select few of "good" teachers. Only a few really care whether your son learns or not. My son was prepared for Highschool but didn't miss the Anthony School. The worst part was the principle who I have not chosen to mention. She seems like she doesn't care about the students and only wants her $. She is not the best faculty member there, which is NOT a good thing. Most principles care for who they have entering in their school but she sees it as, "pay, get in, pay, learn, pay, and get out." Not impressed with the principle. I am not talking about the principle of 13-14 but the predecessor. Great education. Bad leader

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of our children have had a wonderful experience at Forest Park. The teachers are incredible and they truly care about each and every student. There is a wonderful community atmosphere, and the school truly feels like family. There are so many ways to become involved as a family from the school garden to the many events hosted throughout the year. It truly is an amazing place.Parent Review11mo ago - Jefferson Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has closed without notice. The staff were incompetent, inept and the facilities were poor and poorly maintained. The students will be better off in any other area school. They had several health and sanitation related issues and has lost most of the good teachers a few years ago do to politics and policy. Read white, christian, right-wing & privileged, pretending to be Montessori.Parent Review6y ago - Miss Selma's Schools

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in his 4th year at Miss Selma's. This school is a special place. From the Leadership to the Teachers to the Office Staff this school is a fantastic place for children to learn and grow. Every child is treated with fairness and a commitment to his or her education. Every child is challenged academically but there is a well-round approach to educating each child with opportunities for participation in Art, Music, foreign language, PE - all the things that make for great education. Character building is big part of school and each child is expected to treat their school and each other with respect. I pray every day that my son will be able to finish out his elementary education at Miss Selma's. It is truly a treasure for our state.Parent Review6y ago - Christ Lutheran School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey will tell you what you want to hear to get you to enroll. We were so thankful we thought we found a school that would meet our sons needs emotionally, educationally and spiritually. We were wrong. They said they would absolutely be able to adequately support our son with Autism. He got left on the back burner and ignored until we told them we were pulling him. Then "lets get together and make a plan for success." We did this dance multiple times and finally enough was enough. We wanted to quietly exit because we were emotionally drained and our son was emotionally distraught from what he dealt with. We were then told we owed another months tuition. We pulled our sons before the next billing cycle for tuition happened per the handbook. We went round and round with them asking for detailed billing so we could match our records to theirs. They kept avoiding it and throwing it back at smart tuition. Smart tuition said the school has it and back and forth. I provided them with the billing details I had showing that they actually owed us money based of my calculations but we weren't going to bring it up because we wanted to be done. I asked again for detailed billing and to stop contacting us unless they provided what we had asked for. They threatened to send us to collections. We again asked for detailed billing to which we were ignored. They did send us to collections. Which is utterly ridiculous when we asked multiple times for them to show us detailed billing with billing cycles. Moral of the story, if you put your kids here, just know that if they don't agree with you, they don't care what you have to say. Especially if you have a child that requires more attention and needs a little more one on one. They are invested in their own interest.Parent Review3y ago - Little Rock Adventist Academy
