Posted by a parent on 3/28/2024I am glad that my kids are no longer at Health/Wellness Magnet School Because I feel like that the principal and some teachers and some students did not like my sons at all because my kids are not from here in Jonesboro but I am from Jonesboro because I was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas and I am tired of my sons getting picked on and bullied by other kids and other teachers and the principal at Health/Wellness Magnet School and I am glad that my sons go to different schools now
Posted by a parent on 10/3/2018Our son started here for 2nd grade, and I couldn't wait until the end of the year to switch him schools. Parent/Teacher communication was a constant struggle, and I could never get clear answers on how he was doing academically or socially. I requested several conferences and never got them. I have an MAT and know the expectations of teachers and how the school system is built to work, and HWES is falling deeply short in my opinion. I will not be sending my child here again in the future.
Posted by a parent on 1/28/2017My children both went to this school for two years consecutive. From day one we had nothing but behaivour issues with my son. Always getting in trouble and ISS a bunch. His teacher miss Pugh was a terrible teacher. Very arrogant, and constatly provoking my son. We had several conferences to no avvail. The previous principle Miss Hiller stated she would back up her teachers 100%, and the current miss Anderson stated the same. My son is now going to a new school southaven middle school and absolutely loves it. He just now got an award for the most well behaved in a class of 600 and cannot wait to get up and go to school in the morning.
Posted by a parent on 8/31/2012Great school, great staff, great students! Love the programs, gardens, student kitchen, animals, etc. It's a school that takes learning beyond books and into hands on experiences that are interesting to the students.

Upon further search, this school has filed for bankruptcy and is in Chapter 11. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter received an excellent Pre-K education. Mrs. Lisa is a phenomenal teacher. Unfortunately, the new principal and her rude/unprofessional behavior led me to withdraw my daughter from the school two weeks prior to the start of kindergarten. BSS' leadership decided, without adequate prior notice (should be more than a few weeks before school starts), to double the tuition premium (over the previous year) paid by non-Catholics. This premium is excessive and far exceeds any benchmark that I have found searching Catholic schools in this region and around the US. While I can more than afford the tuition, I do not think that BSS is providing an education or customer service that warrants such a premium. So, parents beware! Quality education and professional administration are very important, especially when you are paying a premium for it. Best wishes!Parent Review8y ago
