Ellen Smith Elementary School

The teachers we've had have been average. I also have a child with minor special needs and we were told to go some place else. They refused to help us. I agree that they do not really want parental involvement. I've never felt welcomed. As long as your child is not special needs or a "problem child" you should be okay.

The last parents comment was totally uncalled for. That was the previous posters experience with Ellen Smith. With that being said, I love Ellen Smith, the teachers, the principal and all of the staff members. They work hard for our children. When my son was in kindergarten he had difficulty reading. The staff at Ellen Smith quickly placed him in a class with Mrs. Paladino. She was wonderful. I sat in one of her classes with him and I learned so much as a parent! My son is an excellent reader now. He is also meeting and exceeding in most of his school work. I cannot thank Ellen Smith enough! I have two children who currently attend Ellen Smith and every teacher I have come across has been truly wonderful. It's such a blessing to have your children go to a school where the teachers actually care! Thank you Tachers and staff at Ellen Smith for all that you do!

Both of my children have attended Ellen Smith since K and everything was fantastic until we discovered that my soln has a learning disability and from that point forward i can say my experience has been terrible. The teachers are amazing but the principal has been a road block. The school says they want parrental involvement which is true, but they don't want parent opinion. They want you to come help and volunteer but do not want your opinion and refuse to work with you. If your child has a learning dissability I DO NOT reccomend Ellen Smith.

We love Ellen Smith. It is a very organized school with wonderful teachers, principal and hard working parents. My child has had a great experience here and learn alot.
