N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI like Montessori Academy for my son academically and socially but I think its highly overrated for the price. Don't get me wrong. The teachers are great and it is a great learning enviroment. However, it is entirely too expensive and the price is increasing. They close for every holiday and a week for spring break, Thanksgiving week, and two weeks for Christmas break. Full tuition is still required even though school is closed too. There are too many fees. Nothing seems to be included in the tuition price. There is a curriculum fee, monthly supply fee, cot fee, a meal ticket (lunch is not included) and once a month parents must supply snack for entire class. Additonally, I constantly have billing issues. I'm set up on autodraft and they never seem to draft payments consistently. One month they'll draft at the beginning of the month and then the next month at the end. They'll send invoices home quarterly showing the amount due and that they will draft on certain day. They never do it when they say! It's frustrating. If it wasn't so expensive and the location wasn't out of the way, I would love to keep my son at this school but I have to find something else.Parent Review10y ago - Emerald Mountain Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is great for k4 through 1st grade. It's ok for 2nd and 3rd, but the teaching of both classes (together) seems to be unorganized and confusing. If consideration were made to split the classes, maybe it would improve the quality of education for those children (maybe changes have been made - not sure). Unfortunately, after about the 3rd grade, social interactions, athletic opportunities, and general technology used in everyday school settings elsewhere may become a hinderance to the student; thus, classes fall off significantly after 3rd grade (often 5 or less students through about 6th grade and 1-2 students in upper grades; general class sizes for k4-3rd are about 4-9 students). The school's teachers and administration do firmly believe in God, and they do a great job communicating the Christian faith to the children, and that is a great thing, especially in the day and age where public schools will not attempt it. Make sure to talk with current and past parents and students to get their perspectives (as you should with any school you consider) because each school has it's paticular stengths and weaknesses, or peculiarities, you'll want to know about.Parent Review11y ago - Zelia Stephens Early Childhood Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been in operation for many years and has an excellent reputation. The children who attend develop excellent oral communication skills. They become well-rounded citizens. My son was a student there and he is now 26 years old. My granddaughter, who is 6, attends kindergarten there and is an excellent reader. I like the fact that it is a caring, nurturing, safe environment with the advantages of the activities and resources of the university. Like many other agencies, it has fiscal challenges. I wish that it had adequate funding, so that the threat of closing would not be a factor each year. This is not healthy for the students, faculty, or staff.Other Review10y ago - Maxwell AFB Elementary/Middle School
