Read what parents are saying about Roger B Chaffee Elementary SchoolSome of the teachers here are really good. The ones that are bad are really bad. Some of the teachers put the children down. They say mean things to hurt the children. When issues are presented to the principal they are ignored. The school claim they care for thier students but that is not the case. I do not recommend this school.
Posted by a parent on 12/8/2023I was very worried about my daughter going to a school in Huntsville. But I love the location, the teachers, and the environment.
Posted by a parent on 9/14/2023My child's teacher is amazing but the over all environment does not support growth. The after school program is despicable and does not provide adequate safety. The building is old and run down
Posted by a parent on 2/13/2023We love Chaffee! We will be Chaffee supporters for life.
Posted by a parent on 4/5/2020Chaffee Elementary has been an incredible blessing to my children and our family. This was our first experience with a public school system, and Huntsville City Schools did not disappoint! If you are looking for a small, neighborhood school, and an inclusive learning environment for your child, Chaffee is the school for your children!

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFormer student speaking and from my experience I think the education is good.Except PE the teachers just have it as glorified recess and did not prepare me at ALL for high school PE. We did no push-ups no sit ups nothing. The most you did was walk a few laps around the track and you were free to do whatever as long as you don’t get hurt. They aren’t even that good as football coaches either so I don’t know how they haven’t been fired yet.Aside from PE, my only other complaint is the lack of punishment. I was bullied a lot and the most the teachers ever did was walk up to them and tell them “Please stop doing _______ to _____.” If you were lucky, they would get detention, but it does nothing because they were already used to it. They didn’t even bat an eye when the special education kids were being bullied. Ms. Graham was the only teacher I ever saw do something about the bullying. It disgusts me that the school doesn’t care about this problem.Other Review2mo ago - Willowbrook Baptist Kindergarten

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWillowbrook WEE is a half-day preschool program that my child attended from 2 1/2 years old through Kindergarten. It is not a daycare program. There is a curriculum for every age group that is age appropriate. If you're looking for a place for your child to feel the love of Christ while getting prepared for elementary school, then I would highly recommend. The Director is wonderful, and made sure everything possible was done to follow all Covid guidelines to make sure teachers and students were safe and able to come to school. You will not find a better place where your family will be loved, all while your child is learning.Parent Review1y ago - Mayfair Child Development Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a new employee of this school. After having worked here for 6 months, I would not hesitate to send my children to school at Holy Spirit. I love that our faith is ever-present, the administration and teachers are caring, the class projects I have seen are fun (a recent 4th grade "wax museum" asked students to research a historical figure, prepare a presentation, and dress up as that person to teach visitors about his/her life and important contributions), the school-wide assemblies relate important information necessary to all citizens (a recent presentation by the first Black person to integrate Alabama schools, a recycling presentation teaching students about the importance of reducing/reusing/recycling, an event centered on military veterans and the importance of their service to our nation)... Most importantly, the children are happy. This year the schools has placed importance on security, and it shows. I whole-heartedly recommend Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School.Other Review1mo ago - Mt Gap Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m a current Junior in high school and I believe that Mountain Gap Elementary School is positively the best school providing lower education in the area. I got to Mountain Gap in the last few months of my 2nd grade year and I was welcomed with open arms. The principal, my teacher, and my classmates were very kind and I found friends quickly. My elementary years taught me plenty of content not being learned at my prior school. The normal classroom curriculum was unmatched but I also had the opportunity to be in the gifted program- taking me out of the classroom at times which was also extremely beneficial to me. Though teachers have retired and moved, I have no doubts that Mountain Gap Elementary still provides the same quality education I received in my time there. I spent the rest of my elementary and middle school career in Mountain Gap schools. If you or your child has the opportunity to go to Mountain Gap- welcome to the best years! You’re in good hands and you’ll be on the path for great things.Other Review2mo ago - Whitesburg Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family loves Whitesburg Elementary School! The teachers and staff are helpful, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and skilled at instructing kids of all learning levels. The teacher-student ratio can't be beat! It is about 15 students for every teacher, so my kids have received hand-on, tailored instruction that meets their reading, math, science, and social studies level, allowing them to excel in their academics. The PTA is active and growing, providing fun activities and opportunities for parents to engage, along with support for teachers and staff. The math team, student council, Greenpower teams and more are active and have won awards. My children feel loved, supported, academically challenged, and safe at Whitesburg Elementary! I can't recommend it enough!Parent Review1mo ago
