Read what parents are saying about Gwin Elementary SchoolGreat! This is our 3rd year at Gwin. Teachers are amazing. So is Guidance Counselor as are all of the Specials teachers. The leadership at Gwin is very professional, approachable, and caring. Great curriculum.
Posted by a parent on 8/29/2019I love Gwin. Both my children have gone to Gwin. We moved to Hoover Alabama from Florida and the school has been great. My only complaint is that we moved to a different part of Hoover and they would not let our kids stay in Gwin even though our kids were doing great! They will not accept any out of zone request for any reason. We pleaded with the school board to let our children stay in the school and they denied it. I would recommend Gwin Highly!
Posted by a parent on 3/5/2019I was excited about this school because of area and reviews but after having my child in a different school I see it is not so. I disagree with the use of class dojo it causes division among classmates and does not improve behavior despite research and is subjective. My child has thrived in environments that do not use. Just be wise that the ratings do not always make the school. Visit and see if you feel welcomed and if the atmosphere is welcoming. I do feel that the health services are top notch despite the learning experience if you have a child with a medical need.
Posted by a parent on 10/30/2018The teachers have been mostly great. The school it's self is well taken care of. The administration is not at all adequate to handle the amount of students there. I have had a child mishandled by a teacher, a child left on a school bus and forgotten about, and the after school program is a disorganized wreck. I will be thrilled to be out of this school when my kids are all in middle school.
Posted by a community member on 8/11/2016I adore Gwin! My daughter is absolutely thriving there. The teachers are top notch and truly experts in their age group. It's small enough that I feel like everyone really knows her even if they aren't her main teacher. This school is awesome!

If I had to endure one more year under this woman’s incompetence, I would honestly sell my house and move to a different school district. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent of 3 children at this school. We have been here 3 school years ands we absolutely LOVE it!!! I have friends whose children are in other schools in the same grades and higher as mine and my kids are learning and being exposed to a much higher curriculum level. The teachers are very concerned about the education, behavior and morale of the students. No school is perfect but to us this one is close. I am excited about the new school location and I encourage any parent that is seeking an awesome learning and Christian environment to check this school out.
