This is a fantastic school. The faculty and staff treat you as if you are a part of the family and provide excellent care for the children. There is after-school care for those parents whom work past school hours. My son has been at this school since K4 and is in the 2nd grade now and he loves it. T

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI lived in Gadsden just under 3 year,sadly wish it was longer, but while my kids went here it was amazing. I Know Alabama gets knocks because many schools rank way below national average but this school was great. If you treat them with dignity and respect, and if you behave with some humility, they will be more receptive to you just like anyone else would. If you go in there with an attitude of entitlement, the staff and teachers will still treat you with respect, which speaks volumes to the character of the teachers and staff as a whole. They are doing everything they can to take care of your children and help them become successful in life; and that includes the principal, who is a wonderful individual indeed, and is involved with and dedicated to her students every day. The way I see the teachers and staff just love kids, including my own, is really special. Don't underestimate this school just because some other parents saw fit to complain because they didn't get their way here. This is about what's best for your children, and in that regard I can give only the highest recommendation to Walnut Park Elementary School, its teachers, and staff. Even the custodians are respectable and friendly individuals who care! I am sad that this is my oldest child's last year here because of the relationships with the great teachers and staff she will be leaving behind.
