My experience with Elberta Middle School has been extremely positive. This is a caring, nurturing school, even at the Jr High level. Few discipline problems, excellent academic scores, strong instuctionial, extra curriculum enrichment ,sports. International Baccalaureate program available for high school.Posted by a community member on 5/11/2015
Keep up with the knowing of each and every student, by name or face,,,etc.... And getting the parents or grandparent involved in whats going on with the child.Posted by a parent on 1/25/2013

we came to this school from another school nearby. I have been completely dissapointed. There is hardly any communication from teachers or school about school events, programs ect. unless you go out of your way to find out. There are no clubs or extra curricular activities for 5th graders. The teachers do not let the parents know quarterly what they will be teaching. There are no honor roll ceremonies until the end of the year. They do hardly any innovative or exciting projects to keep kids interested and motivated. They seem to be behind other schools on what they teach. There is hardly any homework or study. And what bicycle activity? What newspaper? communications do not exist. I am very dissapointed and depressed about this school. Foley elementary was such a superior school that the change has been one of shock.Posted by a parent on 11/16/2011

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am saddened by the comment questioning the great things that are going on at Summerdale. Leader in Me is not a "program".The Leader in Me is a process for teaching students personal leadership and 21st century life skills, such as goal setting, time management, teamwork, problem solving, respecting diversity, and life balance. The process: develops the whole child and sees each child as having unique gifts is founded on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and other proven leadership principles and tools creates a sustainable, safe-and-friendly school culture provides world-class professional development for teachers and administrators increases parents satisfaction and involvement is implemented in a way that teachers do not see it as one more thing, but as a better way of doing what they were already doing impacts students of diverse backgrounds, regardless of race, intelligence, or economic upbringingTeacher Review7y ago

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSBCS holds a special place in the heart of our family. When you walk onto the campus you are surrounded with the Holy Spirit. Teachers, staff and administration do everything possible to give each child and family a since of belonging. Opportunities to excel in academics, sports and even the arts are celebrated each day at St. Benedict. Most importantly we live our motto, "Ora et Labora," which translates pray and work. My children are given the opportunity to live our Christian faith by serving God and others! We love our school!Parent Review7y ago
