7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school emphasizes perfect attendance to an insane degree. Weekly, pictures are up in the hallway and online of the teachers with the perfect attendance. Then they allow the class with the best attendance of the month school to choose a spirit day. The kids in other classes that make it to school everyday have no special reward and feel it is very unfair. Also, to put such emphasis on perfect attendance makes it feel that when kids are sick they are expected to still attend school. It just doesn't make much sense. The one spirit day that the class with best attendance chooses is usually shared with the parents last minute as well. This school is not the best with communication. They also lack fun experiences for the kiddos. They have a movie night once or twice a year, one spirit day a month, popcorn Friday sometimes, and a student store sometimes. Last year they did have a community dance thing. There are no award ceremonies for the students. We had to switch to this school due to boundary changes and miss Clover Creek Elementary School so much. Much better communication and so many friendly faces. The teachers at Pioneer seem pretty nice and friendly, but I'm on the fence about the Principal and Vice principal.Parent Review5mo ago - Graham Kapowsin High School

"I've raised my 15yr old daughter in this home. I no longer live here but visit my mother often. When I lived here it was a Great neighborhood. It's actually not that bad, there are just a few unneighborly people 😬 living in the area. They come & go, but most people living here have been here @ least 10yrs. Which is Great 😀, like a family on our block. Kids went to school together, and still have a close relationship with the neighbors till this day!!! 😁💖🏘️"

"Dog owners would like that there are large dog runs with doggie bins & bags. Dog owners would not like that some people don't pick up after their dogs. "
- Amy L.

"They wouldn't like all the loose dogs running around all year round. And owners let their dogs bark at all hours of the night. "
- Joseph W.

"I’ve only seen a couple loose dogs maybe 2 times since I’ve lived here , that’s almost 2.5 years. I’d say if there’s non running around it’s a good sign. If there are dogs loose running around that’s not good. But not here in Spanaway."

"Its pretty easy to get around. Food and coffee is close by. So are the schools. I’ve lived in the area for over 25 years. Overall it’s a good community. The district needs to pass bonds to keep up with the people moving into the area but other than that I’ve enjoyed my time here "
