9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe political bias and emphasis on conformity is downright shameless. The lone counseler is most concerned with college bound stats. The dismissive attitude has negatively affected many kids whose interests were in Technical Careers. Their needs and skillset are judged as inferior (by the counseler and teachers) to those bound for 4 year colleges. If you want to wrap your child in the bubble wrap of privilege and woke ideals this is the place for you!Parent Review2y ago - Friday Harbor Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is an outstanding school with an amazing staff who supports an even more incredible Principal. Unfortunately the local school board and new superintendent feel our principal is not a good fit. I don't know what they want because he is above and beyond any administrator I have ever seen. Despite literally hundreds of parents & community members support as well as the entire school staff, our beloved Principal is leaving. His absence will be felt for a long time to come, leaving many in this community not trusting the current board or superintendent.Parent Review12y ago - Friday Harbor Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have seen this school grow in many ways over the years. I'm currently in my last year of this school and I have always felt safe and welcome. This school provides lots of activities for kids and a fun learning experience. Over the years I have had a hard time agreeing with teachers over grades. They take a reasonably long time to grade work, I understand that they need time when grading but I wouldn't expect it to take a month or two. I don't suggest talking to the consular unless its about home safety. I have been told many times either "boys will be boys" or "It's just a phase". It's an enjoyable school because we have many open sports to choose from. we have a library that's open during lunch and allows a calm space for studying and an open room that's a fun place to play board games during lunch. We have an amazing ASB and a well with wonderful nice front desk lady. This school is a great school for your children because it has a variety of opportunities to see. Hope to see new students soon!Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 93 Nighthawk Ln.

What Locals Say about Friday Harbor

"Super small community feel with little to no activities for middle school through high school aged kids to do other than sports or activities sponsored through island recreation that are only a few days long. Quite a bit of small time drug use on the island. "

"I walk to work from my house in a neighborhood to downtown Friday Harbor. It takes about 5 minutes and has sidewalks."

"I live in a rural area. My commute to the only town on the island is about 20 minutes. I will encounter few cars on the way to town and once in town there are a few stop signs, but no stop lights. People are friendly and helpful. There are wonderful restaurants, but no fast food chains. "

"There are some planned activities from time to time through Island Recreation, however, there is very little indoor activity to keep kids entertained during rainy seasons. "

"There are terrific schools and churches. There, however, is very little indoor entertainment activity options for during the rainy/cold season other than one run down bowling alley and a small theater. There is one place for very small kids ( geared toward those 6 and under) but the community has a fun ever changing recreation group that occasionally offers some amazing classes it’s just hit and miss on what’s offered when. Overall, love this community! So gorgeous. "

"I have seen so many dogs all over Friday Harbor. Stores welcome them and water bowls are available in many different areas."
