6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had two kids here and overall it has been great, this school is far ahead of many private schools. The teachers are highly qualified and have excellent experience either in the classroom or in a related field. I have never waited more than 24 hours to receive a reply when I reach out to a teacher or counselor. My daughter is challenged but not overwhelmed. There is a wide range of electives and lots of choices for after-school clubs. We came from Haycock, and the diversity at Longfellow is better, although there are still very few low-income students. The downside is that it can be high-pressure, some of the kids in the AAP program are great and some are way overconfident. And the start time is painful, but it is the same as every other middle school in FCPS and the area, schools are going to start early. Honestly, I just wish we had more than two years at this school!Parent Review1mo ago - Mclean High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMclean High school has few issues that are ongoing. During the 4 years our family has been involved with MH we have seen teachers that are not qualified, teachers who clearly do not care if students understand and perform. However, there are few very strong teachers that needs to be praised and really apapricited for the work they do. Special Education support is at the 0 out of 10 level. Everything in the Specail Education department is done for a check mark not for a real result.Parent Review3mo ago - Spring Hill Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI moved here just for this school district, what a bad choice! We are dealing with bullying as well. teachers are leaving in the middle of school year or even one teacher left right at the beginning of the school day. Teachers are burnt out due to crowded classes. Mostly ESOL kids who need extra help and the school is not able to provide that well either. The principal is really nice but the office staff is kind of rude and the teachers are not helpful at all. I heard there are couple teachers are very caring but that’s it. I regret the day I moved here!Parent Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 1503 Lincoln Way #204.

"I lived and worked in the Tyson's Corner area and LOVED it! I lived in the Fountains of McLean, which was in easy walking distance to just about everything. With quick access to the metro, bus, and, (soon to be) via the metro, the airport, there really is no reason to drive (and fight that DC traffic). If you do need to drive, Tyson's is the place to be as you can get get to just about everywhere in the DC area without getting jammed on 95/495 traffic. The the extra "no commute time" I was able to enjoy all the local amenities my condo had including the pool and - due to location - Tyson's Corner shopping and restaurants. Last (but not least), the Fountains of McLean was one of those rare condos that not only allowed pets but had lots of space for the ol' doggo to get his daily walk. Finally, although I didn't have any myself, I have heard that the school system in McLean is second to none! I miss you already, Fountains of McLean!"

"Would like to have a gated/fenced dog park area with a partition for small dogs near the chain bridge/old dominion side of mclean. Con, a lot of the neighborhoods do not have sidewalks and you must walk your dogs in the street."
