6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child was a part of the first Kindergarten class at McClatchey Elementary. Now in her final year at the school, she has had nothing but wonderful experiences with students, staff, and opportunities provided within the school and district. When the pandemic hit, MISD was ahead of the curve because it was already a 1:1 district, meaning each child had a device at home. Teachers were rockstars at adapting and teaching our children at home. As things evolved, they taught both online and in the classroom at the same time. Their extensive technology training was invaluable. The school focuses on character traits, careers and hobbies that students are passionate about, and yearly community projects. I have never had a problem with communication with Administration. Teachers regularly send emails and links to newsletters. The PTO is very involved, and plans several events throughout the year, and keeps parents in the loop. The school librarian wears a different crazy hat each day, and is a master at making connections with students. Having grown up in a big city, underperforming district, I am dismayed that anyone could rate this school less than stellar.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 3391 Joe Wilson Rd.

"Watch your kids at all times just in case. I live in a very safe neighborhood but I still would keep an eye out. Speeding is common place but there are a ton of teenagers around here. My son is 3 and he’s very excited to see other people on our walk so that’s really great. But traffics on mockingbird and 1387 is difficult to getv around between 6-9am and 2-7pm everyday. "
