4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA student is only as good as the teachers and parents that support them. You can’t expect the school to raise and be the only support for the children. As long as the parents are supportive and willing to follow up with teaching their children at home your child will excel at this school. If you are in the dual language program you will have a great start with your child’s understanding of two languages.Parent Review3y ago - Mckinney Boyd High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve been very underwhelmed with this high school. I have 2 children attending there and the way they waste their financial resources aka our tax dollars is unbelievable! There are 6! Yes, 6 principals and tons of other useless and unnecessary staff that make way too much money and take those dollars from the students and their education. I can’t even begin to fathom how a school of only 2800 students needs that many principals and administrators!! What do they do all day?! Also, instead of putting a bigger emphasis on the terrible behavior of some of these students, they micromanage dumb things like hats. They need to be more concerned with the rampant drug use, the vaping and the utter disrespect these students have for their teachers and staff. Also, anywhere in MISD if you’re in a bathroom where someone is vaping, EVERYONE in that bathroom will be forced to go to DAEP, not just the kid(s) who were vaping!! My kids are terrified to even use the restrooms at school because of this. The main principal ONLY focuses on and praises the football team which is atrociously bad, instead of focusing on the other sports that are actually excelling. I hate this school district and I’d recommend RUNNING away from it as fast as you can.Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 611 N Kentucky St.

"McKinney has grown a lot in the 18 years that I have lived here but I think it's still a very safe and happy place to live. Children can play in their front yards and back yards. Neighbors say good morning to each other as they walk by your home. I have been very happy living here. "

"Its like the way neighborhoods used to be before suburban sprawl. Houses are unique. Lots of tall oaks, pecan, and elm trees. There is diversity of race and income. Neighbors are vigilant and friendly with active associations. Churches are also in walking distance. Nightlife is energetic. Many year round festivals. "

"I live near this home. It's a great area to live in. Beautiful historic homes, friendly people, safe environment and the commute to just about anywhere in the metroplex is convenient. It may seem like 30 minutes is a long commute to some of you, but you get a great value for you money and peace of mind, in exchange for a little more driving."
