7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI came to this school thinking my child would have a great experience and boy was I wrong! The teachers hardly reach out. If I try to reach out to any staff or administration they NEVER return my call. My child played football for 7 years before coming here. Once at this school, he never got to play in a game again because the coaches only played the kids they coached when they worked at the middle school with and guess what? The team never won anyway! And it wasn’t just like that with football. Other parents that had moved in from out of state talked to me about it with other sports. Its an ongoing concern. As for special ed, myself and other parents have had problems with 504’s being followed and adhered to. My child definitely isn’t happy at this school.Parent Review4mo ago - Lubbock-Cooper Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAt this school, I focused on doing school work. The main issue with this school is the kids, they don't get the discipline they should and when they do, they just get sent to a room for a day or two. There are mainly name calling and racial discrimination, I have also seen a majority of the kids cursing and saying the n word excessively, there was at least 10-20 fights in the 2021-2022 year alone. There was a massive amount of kids disrespecting the teachers and doing whatever they want. Personally would recommend the school for the teachers although the kids gave me a bad experience.Student Review1y ago - Lubbock-Cooper South Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a wonderful school, my daughter will be in 4th and son in 1st this fall but this past few months has made me think twice. They hired a non-certified person who finished her classes online, and passed one of the tests, no classroom experience at all and have put her in a TAKS grade. I questioned the administration (it wasn't the principal or teachers that wanted her there) and was told to hush or get banned from the school. I have worked my tail off as a parent, student teacher and substitute and they made my life miserable because I do not think someone with no classroom experience should be in a classroom. My daughter will probably not be there this fall and my son will stay only because of who he will have for first grade. I may sound bitter but no parent whould have to go through what I have gone through the last couple of months. Think twice about putting your kids out here. Hundreds of teachers out of work and this is what they do. She worked as an aid for two years but no classroom experience. Because of this I can only give Cooper South an average rating.Parent Review12y ago - Check out schools near 2909 146th St.

"Lubbock is a large small city. On this W side of Lubbock, crime is low, close to interstate, a mall within 1/2 mile, another within 3 miles, great restaurants, parks galore. This particular neighborhood is private, with our own clubhouse, 2 pools, great neighbors, great schools, A truly family friendly, safe neighborhood. Most homes in this area are approximately 2500 to 5400 square feet. "
