3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNixon High School has a horrid academic curriculum. For example, the AP U.S. History Class is foregoing their final exam and is opting instead to decorate a cereal box in lieu of an examination to test the students' knowledge of the subject. In my opinion, this is very juvenile on behalf of the teacher, and not contributive in the least to an advanced placement course. Nixon High also has an assistant principal who is extremely rude and combative to parents who question the school's methodology. In particular, the student registration and course scheduling system that Nixon High School uses is antiquated at best, and puts an unnecessary burden on both parents and students. Waiting in line for hours to register for high school classes has practically been eliminated in other areas of the nation, but this school district is clinging to doing things the same way they always have, which results in students not being placed into the classes they need in order to graduate, and instead being placed into electives, or wherever there is a space available. In conclusion, Nixon High is an overall poor quality school, not at all suitable to students who show any type of want for a diverse education or an accellerated course of study.Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 902 Laredo St #2.
