5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids went to this school from 2010-2015. Overall, I would rate these schools very highly. My two older kids loved learning at this school, and the school overall had a very positive environment. I do have two complaints about the school though. One is that I think they have a too rigorous kindergarten program. I didn't notice it at first because my kids came to school ahead, but with my third that struggled, I really did notice problems. In spite of liking his teachers and classmates (again, not problems with bullying), he was miserable at school and cried nearly every day. They had him missing recess too often because of incomplete work, and at the end of the KG year, when I asked about how much play based learning was done in the school, the teacher told me that they were discouraged from doing too much of that, but her and the other Kindergarten teachers were hopeful that would change under new administration coming in. I do not know if that happened or not as I pulled my youngest to homeschool after that. I hope it did. Kindergarten should be a gentle introduction to school, and I feel like it wasn't. (One of my other children had a somewhat negative kindergarten experience also, but I'm not sure if it was for the same reasons. My oldest started in 1st and had good experiences all the way through).Other Review3y ago - Woodgate Intermediate School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids went to this school from 2014 - 2017. They had both gone to Castleman previously and generally loved school there, but when they came to Woodgate, with both of them, their love of learning PLUMMETED. It was slightly better for both in 6th grade than 5th grade. In science, they hardly did any science experiments until testing was done. Testing was a HUGE emphasis and I feel like this was negative. My kids did have a good experience with their electives (orchestra and tech).Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 607 Park Hill Cir.

"Not enough trees. And the weeds and stickers have taken over everyone’s yard. Also you can not have outdoor cats. They will go outside and never return. We have lost 2 in the 3.5 years we have lived here. Now we have a cat that stays indoors. The neighborhood itself is awesome. I feel extremely safe and everyone is very nice and helpful."

"Easy access to I35 and a 10-15min drive gets you to most places in Waco. Txdot construction is planned over the next 5 years but those delays still pale in comparison to commute times in larger cities (e.g. Houston, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta...)"

"Nice, country feel. The street is busier & need to be watchful of children & pets. The houses are a little bit of a distance apart."

"Just about everybody has dogs that lives around me including myself. I rarely see a dog out loose, but a lot of people do leave their dogs outside all day-everyday and not only does it seem cruel on some days, they also have major lack in manners. I've lived here for almost 8 years and those same dogs have barked manically at me for 8 years. And all I'm doing is taking out the trash. Kind of annoying."
