4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a great district with fantastic leadership, good teachers, and awesome academics. Both of our students came from Georgetown ISD, and oh my gosh the difference was insane. So much less bullying, better teachers, administration that cares, it is all just a relief coming from such a parent hating district such as GISD. They are getting a little bit away from being great for parents (more activities taking place during the day that working parents can't go to), and I hope they do stop that.Parent Review1y ago - Burnet Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy grandson transferred into this school half way through the first semester into 6th grade. From the time we entered the school to register him, the staff was awesome. They were welcoming and caring from day 1. The teachers are extremely responsive and are easily accessible by email. The online portal to keep up with assignments, class work, and grades is very user friendly and helpful for this grandmother to keep up with his academics. I have nothing but good things to say about this school thus far. There are some rotten eggs in the student body, which is the case in every school, but my grandson and I have talked about it and how to handle interactions with those students. Fortunately my grandson is quiet, a well behaved child and is not drawn towards bad behavior. Middle School years are tough and kids can go in the wrong direction but my grandson has been surrounded by positive people thus far. He has great teachers this year who have been very positive. He has enjoyed learning this year and is already looking forward to next year's classes. I realize no one likes homework but the only thing that I would like to see is more than the spattering of homework so that I can see what he is learning. I have enjoyed working with him when he does have things to finish at home. Not all parents have this kind of time and I understand that but its important to see what the kids are learning and doing so that we can be a partner in their education. Thanks Burnet Middle School for making this transition for him a positive one!Parent Review11mo ago - Rj Richey Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy granddaughter transferred into this school half way through the first semester this year. I cannot say enough great things about not only her strides in education but also the caring staff at this school. I don't know if she just got lucky with the greatest teacher in the entire school or if all of the teachers are this fantastic but her teacher is phenomenal. My granddaughter has made huge strides in reading, is becoming what I call a 'math genius' and has learned and enjoyed this year so much. We have attended a few class events and the teacher's balance between having a fun class party and still behaving in the classroom is incredible. I honestly do not know how she does it. Grades and progress are easily accessed through the online portal which is very helpful. The teacher has been very responsive to any email I have sent. Communication is wonderful. She sends home completed work on a regular basis so I am aware of the lessons and can be a partner in my granddaughter's education. Homework has consisted mainly of reading assignments but there has been the occasional math worksheet. The teacher keeps us updated with the lessons by sending out flyers via email, informing parents of what the class is studying. I really appreciate that. All in all, this positive experience has made my granddaughters transition this year much easier and more pleasant. She is already looking forward to next year at this school and has said that she doesn't want to go to any other school. Thank You RJ Richey for making my granddaughter's year brighter!Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 16 Lone Oak Dr.

"My neighborhood is full of homes that are almost are on top of one another; for example, one could slightly raise the volume of voice to speak with either three neighbors to them. Also the apartments on Vanderveer where I currently reside seem to be a round the clock traffic attraction for groups of 16-21 year old young folk all hours of the day and night. Loud. Wild. Sometimes quite rude. Sometimes quite helpful... when moving furniture. Wish our neighborhood had annual block partys. One for summer kick off and its end."

"Burnet, TX is an excellent area to either raise a family, or retire too. There are many lakes, marinas, golf courses, and other public attractions with 15 minutes of the area. The schools are known both for their academic programs as wells as their athletic programs. There seems to be a little bit of everything for everyone. The people in this community are extremely friendly and genuinely seem to care about one another. Overall, out of all of the places that I have lived in Texas, this one was definitely the best!"
