4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTransfer to another school district. Most teachers are great and truly care, especially since they do not get paid as much as the bigger districts in neighboring towns. There are a few that could care less in ensuring the kids are successful and only there to gather a paycheck or tenure. When a parent asks for help and the teacher tells the parent too bad, that's a huge issue but can be found in other schools as well. High School Principal does not believe in fostering an environment that involves the parent as part of the village in supporting the student and ensuring they succeed in their education with his micro-aggression s, that is a first for me as a parent. The new after school class called "9th Hour" that has been implemented district wide, is a joke. It was proposed as a way to target the at risk students who are failing or missing work from Kindergarten through Senior. But the implementation leaves ALOT to be desired as kids are told to sit in front of a computer and do homework. "9th hour" teacher does not have access to any missing assignments, does not help the students, just walks around like a guard to ensure the students are not on personal phones/non-school related websites. Kindergarten students are expected to attend 9th hour as well if they are failing, but again they do not offer additional tutoring, they just stay after school to punish the parents/students. How a school district could miss that they are only encouraging more symptoms and not addressing the source of the issues is baffling. They are failing the State Grading system for quite a few years which tells me that there needs to be a massive removal of employment from School Board, Administration, to Campus Administration.Parent Review6mo ago - Evans Elementary School

"Bonham is special to me because of my family, but I wouldn’t live here if I had the money to move. In bonham, you can walk most everywhere (I did), and I felt safe. "

"Near the lake there are often dogs running loose and speeding vehicles on the main lake road. People generally keep to themselves. It’s a very politically conservative area and often there are only republican candidates for local positions. The public schools are large but still value their students and their families. "

"It’s an overall safe area with a nice vibe and great schools and kids activities. We are an open arms community overall"
