6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCalled the school to speak to the principal about my grandson, having three pairs of glasses, broken in two weeks. All broken by other students! The principal spoke at me not to me, and refused to listen to anything I might’ve had to say because she was too busy, interrupting me the entire time. When I hung up on her because I realize she wasn’t going to listen to a thing anyone has to say, she had the audacity to call me back just to insult me further. I’m not a custom as a 60 year old woman being spoken at like I’m a two year old. I’m also not a custom to being told that my grandchild is at fault and that she is not responsible for the teacher’s actions, she’s not responsible for anyone else’s actions in that school, except to be there for support; her own words. I guess if your child is a straight a student at daily you’ll be treated with privilege but if you have a child that has any special needs, you will be treated as if you yourself have a problem. This school is absolutely not interested in educating students there, forcing my grandchild who cannot see to take the tests this week. BLIND!! And I wonder why he gets so upset. It’s a shame when a school system knows nothing about children. Texas Austin independent school district is an epic failure!Parent Review1y ago - Bowie High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m a student who transferred to Bowie. The school as a whole is ok but i wouldn’t recommend this school for anyone.First of all, most of the teachers are bad. They are negligent and don’t try to help us. They find ways to make everything more stressful. The faculty is also bad. The counselors and the principals don’t care about you. Nothing is confidential and they lie to you.The last problem is that they have one of the worst online learning management systems i’ve used. The website is finicky and all the computers are old. Their student portal system is horrible and half the time doesn’t work. I would encourage you to not attend this school.Student Review1y ago - Baranoff Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with Baranoff has been outstanding from the teachers to the Principal. My kids are push beyond their limiting beliefs and constantly encourage to go above and beyond. Of course the success of our kids doesn't comes solely from the school. The staff/teachers/Principal constantly communicates with us as to what is needed from us to help our children to be successful (It's a team effort). Our kids are reading beyond their grade level and math is at middle school level but none of these would be possible without their teachers. The teachers have work tirelessly during Covid to ensure our kids still get the best education possible with as minimal contact as possible and whatever resources they have available to them. Baranoff has stay on top of things during the Covid pandemic to ensure our kids have a safe environment to learn, of course nothing goes without hiccups but they are doing the best they can.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 11310 Aloysia Dr.

"Shady Hollow is a great suburb to live in if you have kids. Close enough to Austin central, but lots of greenbelts, parks, nature and wildlife. For nightlife and restaurants, head to central Austin, but for family fun, the parks, pools, and community activities can't be beat!"

"We have lived here for 27 years and having lived in many other locations in the US and Europe I can say that it has been the best place to live and bring up a family. The combination of available facilities (tennis, pool, community center), well run HOA, safe environment, lots of trees and a quiet neighborhood make for a very nice lifestyle."
