5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school's building is massive and has a lot of space for students; however, it doesn't contain many safe spaces for them. The cafeteria food is average with the exception of a few choices. An upside to the school lunch food is the fact that students are able to choose a free meal from multiple different options. There are 4 different lunch options to choose from. ACT preparations are only done through a 7-day program and through an extra third-period class. The teachers I've experienced seemed really nice and caring for their students with some of them even going out of their way to help and support them achieving their goal! There are some teachers that are blatantly there for a paycheck and wouldn't teach the class themselves by putting them through an online course. If you're looking for a secure school in terms of technology and communication, then perhaps a different school would be better as this school uses students' last four social security numbers as part of a basic password format that is easily accessible. The students I've met were genuinely kind and supportive no matter what your background is! There is a division between students who wish to learn and students who couldn't care less, but it seems to be as a result of the teachers they are given. The new principal is very nice and watchful towards his students despite it not appearing so. More diverse clubs and activities would be much appreciated, as the current clubs are based on the same subject-matter: study groups. Communication between the school and legal guardian(s) are done through phone services. It would be decent to have some advanced placement classes or college-level classes without having to participate in Dual Enrollment. As for news retrieval, the school usually has their fourth-period teachers hand out important news via paper. The school has a website, so adding newsletters, not gradecards or scores, would be a significant implementation. Reading some other reviews, teachers do in fact cover up hazards when the fire marshalls come near.As for my overall rating, it is a great school. Some modifications would be necessary to improve my rating, but all-in-all if your looking for a high school to educate your children, then this one should definitely suffice!Student Review1y ago - Rhea Middle School
