6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease ignore the "rating" on GreatSchools and look instead at what is actually happening at Scott School. I have one kiddo in the English program and one in the Spanish program, and we couldn't be happier with the education, the friendships, the experiences, and the community at Scott. The student body is incredibly diverse--perhaps the most diverse in Oregon--and many families are immigrants and first-generation Americans from all over the world. Administrators, staff, and teachers are committed to supporting all families, and the families take care of each other as well. The principal is dedicated and hard-working and every teacher we've had has been amazing. The kids have specials (music, art, dance, library, PE) every day, and there are opportunities for after-school and extracurricular activities as well. I've met families in the area who never even considered Scott due to its low rating, but they are missing out on a wonderful experience for themselves and their kids.Parent Review2y ago - Madison High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't know where this information is being pulled from but it is significantly out of date. The school's name is no longer Madison but McDaniel. It's a great school, great teachers and a significant number of AP classes offered. Also, this seems to rank based on test scores. The problem is that testing is no longer required, and many students opt out. And it's a dubious method of educational evaluation, regardless. As parents, we have been very satisfied with the education that our daughter has received there.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 3905 NE 63rd Ave.

"This is a neighborhood with easy access to transportation and very good walkability. It's safe, close to restaurants and shopping. The Cameo Cafe is just up the street - best breakfasts in Portland! The houses are well kept, the lawns nice and the people friendly but not nosy. Good schools, the only downside is that parks are kind of lacking but then that is Portland on the Eastside - too little park land."

"Conveniently located between Rose City and Fremont neighborhoods, shopping, entertainment, and restaurants are a short walk away. Easy Trimet access provides a quick trip to downtown Portland and nearby Max stations. Just minutes away from Providence Portland Medical Center, the Portland Airport, Hollywood District, Lloyd Center and Cascade Station shopping and theatres; the center of opportunity, in a quiet neighborhood"
