Welcome to this UNFURNISHED comfortable, cozy and fun NE Portland craftsman. This house is well cared for by a husband-and-wife team who enjoy designing easy and restful spaces.

Located in the beautiful Montavilla neighborhood (named one of the 10 best neighborhoods in Portland), and not far from some of the hippest streets in town (Stark, Alberta, and Division), this home features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dedicated office, wood burning fireplace and wonderfully designed kitchen.

The main floor is flooded with natural light in all the rooms. The picture window assure in the outside giving shine to the original hardwood floors of the house. This house has two main bedrooms with a full bathroom on the main floor. The recently remodeled downstairs has a dedicated office, a third bedroom and a bonus space showcasing cushy carpet to cozy up and watch movies on those drizzly Portland evenings. The washer and dryer are also located downstairs in a separate space along with plenty of storage if needed.

The house boasts a good-sized, beautifully landscaped and privately fenced backyard with awning-covered stone patio, planters and fruit trees, and fire pit for chilly fall evenings outdoors. A generous driveway provides off-street parking and easy loading and unloading from the side entry to the house.

This beautiful home is situated in a quiet neighborhood in NE is Portland about a 10 min drive from the airport. The neighborhood is great for walking especially to a German Bakery, Fressen, just paces away from the house. A 3-minute drive you find yourself at Mt. Tabor, a forest-covered extinct volcano with loads of trails and playgrounds and don't miss out on grabbing a bite at Coquine one of Portland's top restaurants. Walk to Fred Meyer just a few streets away for any grocery needs. Drive or walk to Stark Street which has more restaurants, bars, and Academy Theater. Division, Alberta, Mississippi, the hippest streets in Portland, can be reached walking or a quick 10-minute drive. Your Neighborhood:
Walk a block or three and find yourself shopping or dining at:
This stretch of Glisan looks quite industrial with a lot of mechanics. But the area is blossoming with different shops, cafe's, and little gems! In the last three years these shops all opened up: DB Cake Bakery, Fressen, Tiger's Den Vintage Clothing, Green Front Dispensary, Gigantic Brewing Robot Room, Citrine Bloom, Hinterland, Blank Slate, Sparrow Salon. There will be so much more to come!

On 76 and Glisan, you will find House of Banh Mi. (In our opinion) Portland's best Vietnamese sandwiches! And across the street is a Tofu shop where everyone speaks Vietnamese and lots of tasty things to try.

Across the street on Glisan and 71st, there is True North Studios. A community art studio which holds events and offers art classes.

Up on Glisan and 82nd, there is a community center with a pool and park.

The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. In the evenings, you can find families walking their dogs and riding bikes. Everyone is kind. In the neighborhood, there is a house that loves to put up inflatable decorations and it's a family favorite to walk to and visit. There's also a house with chickens and they love visitors. There's a neighbor who has an in-home salon, and she's talented and it's so convenient to pop in for a wash and cut.

Enjoy nearby parks:
Mt Tabor Stairs, Rosemont Bluff Natural Area, Mt Tabor Park and .
Rose City Park and Golf course is a 15-minute walk or 3-minute drive. There is a playground, a small trail to run on, and golf to play.

A 3-minute drive west on Halsey takes you to Normandale park. There is a large baseball field, a friendly dog park, playground and picnic tables. It's a great park! Not very busy.

"I drive to work and have no issues at all. I work by Beaverton and my commute is no problem. Sometimes traffic is a little slow but nothing compared to where I came from, New York "

"Very dog friendly. Lots of respectful dog owners walk their dogs and pick up after their dogs. Dogs stay on leashes and are mindful of barking. "

"Neighborhood streets are great for dog walking. However, broken glass of the main roads is not uncommon. "

"Some people who are parents love it, some can’t stand it. It’s a diverse community (as Portland goes) and has all kinds of people in the hood. The schools can be good if you take the right attitude, some people move out because of the schools. Who can say? "

"Walkable neighborhood with all the diversity of portland. Great location between Mt. Tabor, Rocky Butte, and Powell Butte. Rich tradition of activism and civic participation, with the classic feeling of neglect from the city and state govs. "

"I lived here from 2006 to 2008, at the dawn of this neighborhood's renewal. I loved the laid-back atmosphere in the neighborhood: lots of homeowners and friendly people out and about. Every year I come home to Portland to visit family, and I am amazed at how much Montavilla has grown up! There are great restaurants, coffee shops and locally owned boutiques. The Academy Theater is absolutely wonderful (great movies, vintage charm plus pizza and beer!), as is the delicious pie and coffee at Bi Partisan cafe. Mt. Tabor Park is right out the back door, so dog owners, trail runners, tennis players or picnickers all have really great green spaces to do their outdoorsy things. Plus, Montavilla is still less expensive than the Hawthorne/Belmont areas of SE, yet only about 10 minutes drive or 15 minutes by bicycle to all of the greatness in those more trendy neighborhoods. Montavilla is basically awesome. "

"I love Montavilla! Stark St is buzzing with cafes like Bipartisan and Pastry Girl, a Farmer's Market, great places to eat like Country Cat, Ya Hala and The Observatory and a fantastic second-run cinema called The Academy serving Flying Pie pizza and micro-brew. The area has many bike routes leading to Mt Tabor park and the Spring Water corridor. Mt Tabor is a short walk and has free summer concerts, a gorgeous play ground, dog park, running and walking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts and picnic areas. Overall I highly recommend this area for the livability, walkability and access to downtown, it is very family-freindly with a ton of families."
