This school system was the only one in the area willing to test her for gifted program in Kindergarten (She was reading 5th grade books in preschool). The other districts wouldn't test or provide services of a gifted intervention specialist until 2nd or 3rd grade. After 1 week of first grade, she was accelerated to 2nd grade for reading, which was just what she needed.
