4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had all my kids in this school my oldest being 16 and let me tell you if you want your kids to be bullied this is the school for you. I just pulled my 6 year old out of this school and my 10 year old this year due to nothing but problems I have told them multiple times about the other kids bullying and they don’t handle it then when your kid stands up for them self they are the problem! I would give no stars I do not recommend this school. I put them in this school thinking it was a good school in a decent area and I was so wrong. I now pay out of pocket for my kids to go to a different school and my kids are excelling and never had a call once they don’t tolerate bullying at the new school everyone treats everyone with respect! Also the office workers are a joke always gossiping and they are all rude! The only decent one is the nurse that works there. This school has caused nothing but stress and a nightmare beware!Parent Review11mo ago - Hyre Community Learning Center

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has gone down hill this year compared to other years. Suspension rates of kids with disabilities and behavioral issues are at a high. Teachers using corporal punishment like making children stand in class. They give zero support for kids with disabilities. They would rather give ISS or suspension than doing their job. With the change of principles also came inexperienced grade principles. Corporal punishment is a thing at this school. Students allowed to kick in at all doors of other students is allowed. I would seriously investigate this school before sending your child here. Harassment and hazing is a daily of the students now.Parent Review4mo ago - Ellet Community Learning Center

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageProud graduate. Proud that I made it out relatively unscathed, not proud of the school. Students who know their future involves college are eligible to take college campuses at (choose Kent, not Akron) by junior year, possibly even earlier? That aspect of Akron Public schools is valuable.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1950 Englewood Ave.

"I guess its nice that there are state parks in the area where you could take your dogs to spend some quiet time, go on walks, and get some fresh air. The East side is my preferred part of Akron; However, having said that, just be careful that you pay close attention to which part of East Akron you are in— If you end up in the wrong area, you may be looking at a situation where you'd want to keep a closer eye on your dog, for example. Also, keep in mind, Akron isn't very rural, so you'll have plenty of somewhat busy, to very busy streets all around you... If you've got a dog that likes to get loose, you may want to take precautions to avoid any dangerous accidents."

"We keep watch, nothing doesn’t get unnoticed, it’s a kid and pet friendly neighborhood, always looking out for the safety of all kids playing, and pets safety during the hot and cold weather season . Neighbors very friendly and very honest, they’ll tell it to you straight, if something is of concern."

"Everyone seems to have dogs in the neighborhood but a lot of them do not maintain them well. Some people mistreat them by leaving them out on chains all hours of the day or not cleaning up after them as they should"
