The school makes you feel like a family and the teachers are caring and loving. There are no racism in this school.

This school is a good school, and the teachers are caring thoughtful leaders. I've seen a few family's who have pulled kids out of Red Hook because they don't deal with diverse learning needs well. For us it was a poor experience overall, made passable by some fantastic teachers.

Too much bullying and administration/staff don’t handle it well

My daughter has been a student in the Red Hook schools since Kindergarten, and she's had an excellent experience all the way through. We could have sent her to a private school, but because she has thrived at Red Hook, we chose not to. The HS prepares students well, offering a first-rate, high-caliber curriculum that students are encouraged to take advantage of. The majority of her classmates are academically gifted and ambitious, and my daughter has benefitted from the challenging atmosphere. She'll be graduating with an International Baccalaureate diploma, and applying to top-tier colleges. Yes, an auditorium needs to be built, but in the meantime, the Red Hook band has been holding some performances at the world-class Fisher Center at Bard College. Not too shabby! If your child is talented, bright, motivated, and comes from a supportive home, she/he will do well!
