8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOne major advantage of NEST is the on-site after-school program offering a broad set of enrichment activities like sports, music, chess, arts, etc. NEST also has a very active PTA, very engaged parents, and a good sense of school community. Most of the classes have teaching assistants paid for with donations from parents through the PTA. It is a huge benefit for the kids to have the TA in the class providing additional support.Parent Review4y ago - Tompkins Square Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe silence regarding the large amount of unruly, disrespectful and misbehaved students is DEAFENING. Dismissal is a complete POOP show. The school communication with parents is POOR. Don't let me get started on the Special Education Team. The worse I've dealt with since my child's diagnosis at the age of 3.5. If your child is special needs with an IEP, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. The team in not supportive and your child's IEP mandates will not be met. To add to the mess, the city migrant shelter/intake center at the old St. Bridgit is on the next block. They have completely taken over Tompkins Square Park. It's a complete NIGHTMARE over there. This school is a huge disappointment for both my child and me. We will not be back next year!Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 268 E 4 Street UNIT 1A.
