2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei spent two years here and it was okay i guess. the building was always clean and the teachers were challenging us but the real problem was the students. my friend was jumped in the locker room twice in one week and there were recordings of it and everything. i had to get out of that bad environment, the fear i was in was really affecting my learning. the teachers provided us with challenging material and curriculum but the only problem were the kids. in the end of my seventh grade year i was threatened by a group of girls who said they were going to jump me. i couldnt even come to the last day of school. this school is also in harlem, a predominately black area, so me being not of african american decent made it challenging to even get into this school, it felt like everyone was giving me a hard time because i didnt look like they did. the lack of diversity is a problem here, but as for academics it is actually ok.Other Review10y ago - Ps 92 Mary Mcleod Bethune

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son went to this school for pre-K and I must say that it was not the best experience. While the principal and other staff are great, my son's teacher was not ready to deal with a child such as mine. She often singled him out and called him "bad" every day. I thought that teachers were trained in the areas of psychology and child development but I question this when it came to his Pre-Kindergarten teacher. As I mentioned the rest of the staff was great but this teacher was not too good. Sometimes we should evaluate when it is is time to move on and retire.Parent Review11y ago - Teachers College Community School
