5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHutch Tech has a long tradition of standing out for its education and dedication to different avenues of engineering. Tech maintains a 90% or better graduation rate each year. Hutch Tech has one of the highest student enrollments for high schools throughout the district, nearly 1200 students. The students are generally well behaved, respectful, and dedicated to their coursework and success. Tech is also a busy school. There are many activities, sports, and club that meet before and after school. Students are often in the building well past the 3:20 dismissal; I have frequently witnessed students leaving at 5pm because of their involvement in the building. I have been teaching in the building for 12+ years and I am also an alumni; I am proud of our school and the success we celebrate.Teacher Review6mo ago4 Reviews - Ps 17

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible school as soon as you go to 6th grade BEWARE the one teacher she is a SEVERE Bully threatens kids ,wears a grinch mask to get "bad "students out of the classrooms. Reported Her oh she is a GREAT teacher they don't care how parents nor a child feels . bullying is an issue show them threats oh it is not like that when a child stands up for them selves they are the issue they get in trouble not the bully .They don't reward the students a child with a very high average perfect attendance gets nothing but here some more work for you do to do while we honor other students so unfair .The one gym is also a bully .The teachers stick up for each other along with the staff .They don't care how a parent nor student feels .The principal last year lied to parents forced students to take the 3 to 8th optional tests .no one care not even the superintendent what the principal did.New Principal which was the old assistant principal is HORRIBLE she was horrible when assistant principal she don't care what a child or parent feel her attitude is nasty. This school is the worst gave my child serve anxiety they also scare the students .Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Ps 74 Hamlin Park Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageim a current student at waterfront elementary. I wouldnt recommend this school to anyone AT ALL!! they suspended a kid in my grade knowing he didnt do anything wrong, what happened: some 8th grades put some firecrackers in his backpack while he went to the bathroom, when he picked it up it opened and fell and firecrackers came out. he got suspended the day of the field trip that he badly wanted to go too. they refused to check the cameras because it took "too long" to check them. they check one clip of the boys putting the firecrackers in his backpack but thought it was a set up. the suspended the him for a week and the boys that put it in his bag for only 2-3 days. keep in mind that the kid from my grade is in 6th grade and the boys that put the fire crackers in his bag were in 8th grade and even ADMIITED that they did it.Parent Review3y ago3 Reviews - West Hertel Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a very bad school. There was a lot of fights and drama at this school when I was there. In the classroom , kids will be EXTREMELY loud and do bad things. You can't focus in the classroom and the teacher will waste time trying to make them quiet. Also, most classes are like super easy to pass like there was little hard work, in ela we would just read books and answer like super simple questions, and they had only a few tests and quiz and they were super easy to get a good grade on it, and in science I always get full points unless I didn't finish the work. In math it's just copy what the math teacher is writing on the board and zearn and moby max, and a few castle learning not that hard. And in spanish the teacher gives you the answer for all the work and even homework !! Social studies has to be the hardest class but was still not hard! The teacher only gives you grade for tests. The tests you could easily pass. You only had to study for the 4th quarter only but the other quarters you could use your learning activities so it was not really difficult and still 4th quarter test was easy as long as you studied.Other Review1y ago6 Reviews - Harvey Austin School 97

"All around nice place to live but it gets very busy and the traffic is getting pretty bad as they open up more bars, restaurants and shops. They aren't adding more places to park or accounting for the rise in traffic. I've been seeing more and more accidents on Hertel than I've ever seen living here. And they drive and pass each other like lunatics. Getting scary to cross the street."
