What Locals Say about Wildwood

  • The Guide
"Generally safe during the day, potential for harassment or violence, nothing compared to the night. Stay off the streets at night. "

"There is a great dog park on the beach. It is well maintained and large. Fresh water is available. They can also use the beach for the one block down from the park. Dog’s need to remain leashed while in the beach out of the park. "

"I’ve grown up in North Wildwood since the early 1970’s. Not much has changed. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else but here. I have incredible neighbors and EVERY ONE you meet or pass by greets you with a smile ( if they don’t they aren’t from here lol) It is an island, relaxed-chill vibe in the summer with plenty of bars, so many amazing restaurants, miniature golf, Bike rental places, golf cart rentals are huge because EVERYTHING Is within 5 miles end to end. We have plenty of ice cream parlors (Duffers is the BEST) and if all of that isn’t enough, we have the Worlds greatest Boardwalk that’s is fun for any age. It goes on for 2 1/2 miles and 3 piers loaded with rides for the youngsters to the daring ride seeking thriller’s. Every Friday night during summer they give off the most incredible fireworks display! It still brings out the child in me. We are known for our long sandy beaches. Plenty of surfing and soooo many dolphins. The winter months are more quiet and needed after the hustle and bustle of summer. Since the pandemic, more owners are now occupy"

Wildwood is a really nice place to live. Is quite on the winter, exactly what you need after the busy summer. Is clean and nice people! "

"I lived here for a few years. Some areas are good some areas of the island not so good. If it was up to me I would live off the island because I believe there is less drug addicts and crime"

"It is an island, and in the summer is a well known beach destination. It's great in summer, but population plummets in winter. Love it in the summers and our neighbors are great. We don't live year round, only in the summer months and into fall . "

"I moved down to Wildwood, NJ about a year and a half ago, from Buffalo, NY. From the moment I got here, everyone has been super friendly. We know the first names of all of our immediate neighbors. It’s also very interesting to see the 6° of separations/friend’s coming full circle. "

"It’s a great neighbourhood but it is wildwood so be very wary but free at the same time. It is a tourist destination so in summer there’s a lot of people who aren’t from the area."
