I was under the impression it was a great district, but it didn’t take very long to see how awful it really was. I had two children there, one graduated before we moved, but no thanks at all to Northern. It was an alternative school that saved her. The other fell behind during Covid at home schooling. And that’s where they were happy to leave him. They prioritize their salaries over helping struggling students succeed. They offer absolutely nothing by way of character. There are too many racist/bigoted incidences to list. There was even a viable shooting threat made on the bus. Nothing is done about it, ever. Since we moved, my son has caught up on the year he stayed back being there and is now graduating a year early. He actually likes school now. Students here are extremely unkind and make racial comments to others as white people. The administration is very prompt in responding to inquiries. The curriculum in all major areas has been completely overhauled over the last few years. Most importantly, the students are well educated and prepared.
